It’s not actually a good thing that some women feel pressured to get breast implants or that some men feel pressured to get ab implants. It’s not a good thing that gender roles are imposed so heavily and strictly that it leads people to hating their natural bodies for not fitting some standard, and makes them want to surgically alter their bodies. Why are we hand waving this away as “teehee it’s just gender affirming care which is always fine and good and wonderful and completely politically neutral!” Instead of analysing and criticising this?? Why are we being so intellectually lazy and wilfully ignorant?

As a porn addict trying to recover I don't think women hate porn enough

This doesn't just account for the rampant abuse and dehumanization of women, but also the addiction aspect in women. There's something horrifying about training your brain into seeing the abuse as normal and erotic while being unable to stop it because addiction literally rewires your brain to crave that next dopamine hit. You can tell yourself over and over again that you'll quit, that you need to quit, that you're only hurting yourself in the end, but the second you need that next fix do you want to guess where you are? Don't even get me started on the endless self-loathing that comes from being an addict with enough sense to know the shit on screen is filmed torture.

If we can acknowledge that sexual assault is different than any other form of assault so much so that it requires its own name(rape), then we must understand that sex is different from any other action in society. This concept has to extend to jobs too meaning that sex work is inherently different from any other profession. This is the basis from which all anti porn and sex work arguments must stem.

Jesus Christ, wasn't there a pretty popular take a few years back that sexual assualt is the worst crime because it's inherently different from any other one? You can kill, rob, vandalize, assualt with a geniune reason that stands up in court but theres never any reason to rape. What is this shit?

I keep on seeing this one post floating around talking about how becoming a radfem made them miserable and I wanna be nice but... take the L ladies. Life's so much better when I can put a name to misogyny. Or cutting ties with porn supporting male friends. I'm more will I need to call out things that make me uncomfortable, I'm actually excersising(mostly because the prospect of endometriosis has put the fear of god into me), I'm generally more extroverted... I'd need a control group to prove my theory but being able to call out misogyny just makes everything in life better. The only thing I've lost from being outspokenely a radical feminist is one or two male friends and like... is that even a great lost? Feeling worse just seems like a skill issue here.
