The Transgender Voices Project

The Transgender Voices Project is an anonymous, survivor-centered archival blog created to document intra-community sexual violence, domestic abuse, harassment, and coercion perpetrated by TMA (transmisogyny-affected) individuals.

Too often, survivors of intra-community abuse (whether they are TME trans people, TMA trans people, or cis victims) are silenced, ignored, or told to bury their trauma for community optics. This project exists to break that silence, center victim experiences, and provide a permanent historical record.

Scope & Criteria

Perpetrator / Abuser must be TMA (e.g., trans women, trans fems).

Open to all survivors (TME trans people, TMA trans people, and cis individuals).

Submissions involving cis male or TME perpetrators fall strictly outside the scope of this project.

Anonymity & Safety Rules

All names, specific handles, precise locations, and granular details that could identify you or others must be censored, changed, or redacted before publication to ensure survivor safety and prevent doxxing.

Anonymous asks cannot be verified after posting. To protect against bad-faith actors attempting to erase victim stories, anonymous posts will not be deleted.

If you want the ability to delete your post later: DM the text of your submission from a Tumblr account before submitting it to the askbox. Once verified via DM, you can request deletion at any time. (Feel free to use a throwaway sideblog for privacy).

If you choose to submit publicly with your handle attached, please be aware of the risk of bad-faith harassment.

"THANK YOU to the person who dm'd me this. i thought my point was frankly obvious but with people constantly saying I said not wanting to top is rapey (??????????????????????????? why would i then talk about tme trans people and comptopping then if it's rapey???? make it make sense people) i guess I have to clarify......

the rapey part is the 'tmes want us to sleep with them sooooo bad' part. given the timing of that post it did not sit right with me. and again i know that people always argue that TME doesn't just refer to a specific kind of trans person, but..... it's almost exclusively used to refer to trans people who aren't women or fems. characterizing trans mascs and men and nonbinary people as "wanting to sleep with you sooooo bad" when you run a project about how TMEs sexually assault TMAs is just.... does anybody else see it???? it's weird and rapey! not the part about comptop my god.

also why are we not allowed to talk about what is obviously being referenced here? mousidy is talking about the fact that many trans women are preop, and expected to be the penetrative partner during sex (which doesnt even need to be penetrative) because they still have a penis. if "tme" just meant "anyone who isn't a trans woman" then this would imply cis men regularly prefer to bottom for trans women to the point of pressuring her into this when that's clearly not the case.

the obvious implication of mousidy's post is that tme = tme trans person = trans masc = person with a vagina, which then carries the assertion and expectation of receiving and being penetrated. so mousidy is pretty much saying "trans people with vaginas want us to fuck them with our penises SO BAD they will coerce us into it" and this is going completely uncriticized.

which btw as a small aside why is it so impossible to say vagina here without people losing their fucking mind? and before people can run off on the "assuming most trans women have a penis is PROBLEMATIC" shit, acknowledging your own anatomical reality is not problematic. it's the interpretation of that data which can be. if I said your penis makes you a male and that's all you can ever be, that would be flagrantly transmisogynistic. but saying women can have penises is not transmisogynistic, and that is what i am saying.

but by this very logic, if it's rapey and regressive comptop to expect a partner with a penis to penetrate, isn't it also the very same to expect a partner with a vagina to be penetrated, whether or not that vagina is natal?"

people are deliberately being illiterate and bad-faith because it is easier to distort what i said into "you think not wanting to top is rapey" than it is to address the actual point being made.

the issue has never been about anyone's personal sexual boundaries or preferences. the rapey part is specifically framing an entire group of TME survivors as inherently hypersexual creeps who are "desperate" to force or coerce sexual acts ESPECIALLY in the context of discussions around sexual violence, coercion, and material trauma.

when people use "TME" as a shorthand to flatten complex, diverse transmasc/nonbinary bodies into an assumption of specific anatomy, and then use that assumption to paint survivors speaking up as predatory or sexually demanding, it relies on deeply coercive and regressive tropes.

I don't think that other blog is going to update as frequently as this one which is unfortunate because this is all very fucking real and it is true that there are very few if any places we can talk about any of this stuff even between ourselves. It's not fun. Y'know. anyone you see in the whole world could be carrying the same pain as you and you wouldn't know because we are not supposed to talk about these things. So I do sort of wish there were a good compromise between "outside the scope of this project" and "anyone can send in anything" because this is a really important conversation to have and it just gets danced around doesn't it. There are specific paradoxical dynamics of gendered abuse that we cannot get past and through if we do not discuss them and make ourselves aware of them

I don't mean to say that all trans people have been sexually abused but it is (as far as I am aware) a very common reason people pursue transition. Maybe this is perspective is outdated by now even but I think it makes sense and I consider myself a classic case of that. I was eleven and the girl from my school was twelve. Nobody in my family knew until I was 24. I was scared to get her in trouble.

I guess I mention all of this because what I am getting at is "if we all just pretend we're cool, we are going to hurt each other. we have to do the work of being cool, which means talking about uncool things honestly and in detail, and allowing ourselves and others to see and think critically about them". I'm not an expert and really don't know what breaks the cycle of abuse but I hate the idea of hurting anyone because I have been hurt. We can only see through our own eyes though and we all have blind spots. I dunno. I hope everyone is taking care of themselves and the ones they love and that anyone for whom this has been any degree of retraumatizing sees a rainbow soon

what you said about pretending we're all cool versus actually doing the hard work to be cool by facing the painful realities really hits home. the silence and the taboo around sexual trauma in our spaces is so suffocating. people would rather sweep entire lives under the rug and pretend harm doesn't happen than do the uncomfortable work of holding space for real healing.

i feel the weight of what you're saying about the scope of this project so deeply. it genuinely breaks my heart when people reach out with thier pain and i have to hold the boundary on TMVP's specific focus. keeping the criteria so strict is purely about protecting a dynamic that was being erased so aggressively that it needed a dedicated container to survive at all. when a blog tries to cover every form of harm at once, the specific patterns of intra-community violence get diluted and pushed back into the shadows. still, that doesn't change how devastating it is that there are so few safe places for survivors to speak about the complex ways gender and trauma intersect.

i am so, so sorry for what happened to you when you were so young, and for the heavy burden you carried alone for all those years. it takes so much courage to look at your own pain, recognize those blind spots, and actively make the choice to break the cycle so you don't pass harm onto others.

she has repeatedly directed her followers to harass and mass-report me, which has resulted in over 500 asks in my inbox within the span of a single week. the vast majority of these messages consist of suicide baiting, direct harassment, death threats, and grotesque rape apologia.

when I first began this project, I had initially failed to turn off photo submissions, and as a result, I was sent "crush porn" involving newborn puppies. mousidy has taken zero accountability for any of the campaign directed toward this blog, and instead continues to play the victim. given her ongoing friendships and public associations with several known abusers and predators on tumblr, her behavior is extremely concerning and alarming, especially considering how mousidy routinely positions herself as a moral authority and facilitator of a safe space within the community.

i have been cataloguing some of this harassment in the #hate.txt tag, but the sheer volume of hate is so overwhelming that if i posted all of it, this blog would become nothing but an archive of the abuse directed at me, the mod.

and even the first category isn’t enough for them. you see a lot of trans men still get harassed and told they’re “speaking over” trans women for unconditionally supporting them, and bashed when staying silent and not “doing enough.”

i am so sorry people are being so incredibly cruel to you. there is a way to block people who send you anonymous asks i believe, and i really hope that’s available for you. i truly, truly wish you the best and i pray they won’t go as far as to doxx you and threaten harm (as they’ve done to some others in the past who spoke out, i believe).

you're touching on a dynamic that a lot of transmasc survivors and TME people express feeling crushed by—the feeling that intra-community power dynamics, hierarchy, and strict rules around "who can speak about harm" end up silencing real survivors. when people are taught that certain identities are completely immune to critique or accountability, it creates a dangerous environment where victims are forced to stay silent or risk total social excommunication just for naming their abuse.

that double standard where trans men are expected to either constantly defer, take blame, or accept harassment quietly is precisely why documenting these experiences matters so much. survivor space shouldn't require anyone to earn the right to speak or swallow thier trauma for the sake of community optics.

as for the anon asks, i do keep them open intentionally so survivors who aren't out or who are terrified of public retaliation still have a place to reach out, even if it means having to sift through a lot of vitriol. i am doing my best to block, moderate, and protect my peace where i can!
