I don't know if anyone has done this before, but I will make one anyway. When I was still questioning, I was in search of different works that represented transmasculine individuals, not just as side stories or background characters, but a story witten from the eyes of a transmasc character and focused on his/their journey. It took a lot of work to actually find some of these but I did. So I decided to compile a list of books I've found so far, the gender of the main character, genre, and romantic pairing where applicable.
For some of the ones I've read, I have added additional information, but I'll try to leave out spoilers. I may make a mistake with that though so please let me know if that's the case so I can edit it. Also, just because I didn't add the romantic pairing for some, doesn't mean there's no romance in them; they may be key to the plot, minor parts of the story or are non-fiction.
In addition to the above, for books marked as horror --especially books by Andrew Joseph White, this man does not joke-- PLEASE READ THE WARNING PAGE ON THEIR BOOK SITES. THERE ARE ALSO WARNINGS IN THE BOOKS, DIGITAL OR PHYSICAL. READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION.
Please note some of these stories may or may not contain some level of transphobia, homophobia or other forms of discrimination. I have not read many of them so please look into them before you read.
Fiction
• The In-Between Bookstore by Edward Underhill (trans man)- Contemporary, coming-of-age, time travel fiction || It's a cozy book, the time travel isn't anything big enough to warrant a scifi label.

• Old Wounds by Logan-Ashley Kisner (trans boy and trans girl mc)- Horror, paranormal, YA, Contemporary.

18+ / Mature Audience
My blog is already 18+, but to the minors who may stumble on this post and stubbornly and curiously peer into this section, this part is NOT for you. There are appropriate books above you can pick from but the books listed below are not, they are MA for a reason.
Now for the rest of us, here are books categorized as either Mature or Adult. We will start with Fiction:
• You Weren't Meant to be Human by Andrew Joseph White (trans man, neurodivergent (autism, non-verbal))- Horror, thriller, scifi, contemporary, psychological horror || This book is visceral, explicit and blunt. Body horror is a major part of the plot among other very dark themes so I repeat, read the warnings on this book. It is my number one book from this author, and I connected so much with the main character I can't even begin to explain it. But others may not be able to read through the book, especially if it is triggering. So please read the warnings.
• The Leech by Hiron Ennes (trans man or intersex, unclear but he is trans and uses he/him)- Horror, scifi, gothic, fantasy, dystopian.
• The Woods All Black by Lee Mandelo (trans man)- Horror, novella, historical || The romance in this one is a little problematic to some and not others due to the age gap. Outside that it's quite good.
• A Gentleman's Gentleman by TJ Alexander (two trans men mcs) (mxm, t4t)- Romance, historical.
•Ponyboy by Eliot Duncan (transmasc) - Contemporary, mental health and addiction.
• Dead Collections by Isaac Fellman (Trans man) (mxf, c4t)- Fantasy, romance, paranormal, vampires, horror.
• Confessions of a Fox by Jordy Rosenberg (two trans man mcs)- Historical, literary fiction, metafiction || Get's pretty explicit with sexual content and gory or visceral depictions.
• The Church of the Mountain of Flesh by Kyle Wakefield (trans man)- (Body) horror, fantasy, adult, religion, thriller, historical || Again read the warnings, the religious trauma is strong with this one, amongst other things.
• I will also like to add another indie trans author named Mars Adler who writes horror and dark novella and novelette with trans or queer main characters. They often include t4t representation as well. You can take a look at his books and stories here or on Pinterest: https://marsadler.itch.io/
Of course, the gender of the character depend on the story you're reading, but there are trans men and transmasc representation as main characters among others. I put this in this section because the author mainly writes stories for a mature audience.
Now for non-fiction:
• Beautiful Monster: A Beginning by Miles Borrero (transmasc genderfluid, immigrant poc)- Memoir & biography || For heavy themes.
• Young Man/We Both Laughed in Pleasure by Lou Sullivan (trans man)- History, memoir & biography || Compiled private journals written by the American trans activists and historian, Lou Sullivan.
• A Trans Man Walks Into a Gay Bar by Harry Nicholas (trans man)- Memoir & biography || This was one of the first memoirs by a trans man that I had ever read when I was figuring out my identity. It helped give me some perspective to my experience and understanding on navigating the gay scene. It was a good read. He does delve into his sexuality and relationship on a very intimate level so it gets explicit.
• Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg ( - ) - Historical, social realism, coming-of-age || It follows the journey of a stone butch lesbian and transitions through life both societal and gender wise. According to what I've read, it's supposed to be fiction but the author's life is highly reflected in the story and the main character enough to nearly be non-fiction, so it's in an interesting grey area. Please search up trigger warnings as it delves into very real but triggering experiences.
•Pageboy by Elliot Page (trans man) - Memoir & autobiography.
This is not an exhaustive list, there are very much books I am missing from this list so please feel free to mention them in the comments (Only books where the main character or one of the main characters is a trans man/transmasc please). I'll update the list accordingly when I can. And again, please let me know if I've made any mistakes here.
I know a lot of us are starved for representation, but I promise you they are out there. It's not easy to find but it's there. We do not find much representation in movies, series, games, etc, but there are many books with us represented in it, and many written by other trans men and transmasculine people.
I also plan to do another for nonbinary and transfem representation but it may take a while before I get to that.

I want everyone to just universally know more nonbinary attraction terms, I need it so bad dawg.
Trixic, toric, enbian, diamoric, I just want enben love to be recognized, PLEASE!!!
At this point, I just feel like it’s my duty to use these terms as much as I can in my own life, I just need to expose as many people as I can to these terms, more people need to know.
Because, let me tell you, I die inside every time people use exclusively yuri or yaoi to describe relationships with a nonbinary person in it, or when people imply that being specifically attracted to a nonbinary person makes you a chaser, like, oh god no
Kid's playing in the empty fields as they cheer and scream in joy and anticipation. They kick up sand, pass a worn out ball from one to the next. The other children watch at the sides, staring and betting on who would kick the ball past he metal post.
A daughter sitting between her mother's laps while she plaits a new pattern onto her scalp at the balcony. A bottle of Maltina and a plate of meatpie sit beside them.
Pàtẹ́wọ́, Kòlẹ́sẹ̀, Sùkú, her mother suggests. She picks Korobá and she hands her mother a cutting comb with her school book in her lap.
A woman hawk on the streets, selling oranges, sun-dried plantain chips and assorted treats to willing buyers in stagnating traffic.
Her baby is wrapped against her back, sound asleep despite the loud honking and blares from the impatient vehicles around.
A son begs his father to buy one for him.
He acquiesces, handing over two one-hundred-naira notes. She takes it with a slight bend in her knees in gratitude, before handing two bags of plantain chips.
The hustling and bustling market, sellers calling to their customers for sales and deals worth their time.
"Ijebu garri! five hundred naira! Come and buy o!" an aunty sings with her nephew tends to the coming customers.
Two mothers use the strength gifted by their god to pound the boiled and softened yam to prepare for their families.
Their husbands would be back from work soon, and their children from school. They do what they can to feed their family, so they prepare pounded yam with egusi for supper.
The women in the church are in their best sunday clothes, the first Sunday of the month, a day to celebrate.
Masquerades, from Egúngún to Agogoòrò Ẹ̀yọ̀, flood the streets and perform. People chant and cheer as music plays, people run in fear of getting whipped for disrespecting them, people stare in awe, fascination, and a hint of fear.
The captivating figures capture the attention of the people, rich with spiritual meaning and culture.
Tribal markings that mark your heritage on your skin, Ayò Ọlọ́pọ́n played by the elders, Ṣẹ̀kẹ̀rẹ̀ that chant in harmony with the voices of the people, talking drums that speak along with the Alága as they are played with the poetic and sacred Oríkì at a Yoruba wedding.
Festivals to remember our roots, Funerals that celebrate the life of the dead, Weddings to relish in the joys of a pair becoming one, and Prayers sent to God, Allah, or the tribal deities of our ancestors.

YOU DON'T NEED TO BE A SKINNY WHITE TWINK TO BE ATTRACTIVE AS A TRANS GUY. BE FAT. BE CHUBBY. HAVE SCARS AND STRETCH MARKS AND SPOTS AND CYSTS AND DRY SKIN AND DANDRUFF AND ECZEMA. HAVE MOHAWKS AND LOCS AND AFROS AND CURLS AND PIN-STRAIGHT HAIR. BE A POC. GET DARKER IN THE SUMMER. WEAR FEMININE CLOTHES, WEAR MASCULINE CLOTHES, WEAR A MIX OF EVERYTHING. GET SURGERIES, DON'T GET SURGERIES, GET HORMONES, DON'T GET HORMONES, MEDICALLY TRANSITION OR CHOOSE NOT TO OR CHOOSE TO ONLY DO CERTAIN PARTS OF IT BUT NOT OTHERS. USE WHATEVER PRONOUNS YOU WANT. HE, SHE, THEY, XEY, ZIR, OTHER NEOPRONOUNS, WHO CARES! BE WHOEVER THE FUCK YOU WANT TO BE, HOWEVER THE FUCK YOU WANT TO DO SO, BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT TRANSITIONING IS SUPPOSED TO BE. DO NOT LET YOURSELF BE CONTAINED IN ANOTHER MOULD RIGHT AFTER YOU JUST BROKE OUT OF THE LAST ONE.
#And please STOP trying to contain your trans siblings
#we should never be enforcing imaginary rules on each other
#part of community is helping each other stand tall
More people should adopt the phrase "And I cant speak for trans men..." when talking about trans issues, because a lot of people just can't. That is strikingly apparent.
What really fucks me up about people calling trans men who talk about transandrophobia MRAs and gamergaters is that the main feature of those hate movements was blaming women for all their issues and building hate campaigns around that, I-
Genuinely genuinely - with all the love in my heart - none of the big initial posts that started all this (from nothorses, st-dionysus, doberbutts etc) claim anything about transmisogyny! Literally all they were saying was hey, I have experienced x, y and z and I would like to talk about a, b and c because I don't see it discussed a lot
Like, nobody claimed they were "more oppressed" than transfems or that transfems are in any way involved with the issues they face, like, literally that is a whole new sentence help
I know it sounds like an insult, but, like, it's not about you
"But the term implies-" SHUT THE FUCK UP! That's a bullshit semantic argument and you know it. Do you go around saying "bi means two!" at bisexuals? Grow up.
Some otherwise well meaning people looking to support transmasculine people will reblog things that say some very disturbing and weird things about trans women purely because its packaged in a supportive statement about trans men and that worries me. Look BOTH ways when crossing the street, you can't solely be looking out for the anti-transmasculinity but not the transmisogyny too. And also look up and down too so you don't miss the exorsexism or intersexism either. Shit and the racism and ableism too, just keep your eyes open in every direction okay, lets all practice reading and critical thinking more because its important.

if you told someone : "trans women are more likely to be seen as predatory and have to be careful in many interactions because their actions are likely to be seen in negative light"
and they removed the trans part and went: "no, women don't have to worry about being seen as predatory when interacting with people, either you are lying about that or you are not really a woman"
you would rightfully be pissed off
SO STOP REMOVING TRANS FROM TRANS MEN WHEN DISCUSSING ISSUES TRANS MEN FACE
TW for fetishization, sexualization, racism, and transphobia
Some people are way too comfortable on the internet.
I don't even know how to react to it.
The moment I tell someone I'm chatting up that I'm trans and later black, they tell me all their deepest sexual fantasies and their kink for black and/or trans folks and it's just...odd.
Some I don't mind, like men who are questioning their gender or sexuality or their nonconformity which I don't mind helping them through.
But tell me why you're breaking down your interest in raceplay with you daydreaming about having a black slave you can use however you wish. Tell me why you felt the need to tell me that you always wanted to have sex with a black man that violates you and your spouse. Tell me why you feel the need to tell me "I really like chocolates" while referring to my race. Tell me why you called me a hard N out of nowhere while rping when I told you I wasn't into any of that. Tell me why you seem particularly obsessed that I'm not only black but specifically a trans man that you want to treat like your own personal breeder, completely unprompted. Tell me why you are obsessed with the idea of getting me pregnant (in all seriousness) when I insisted I'm not into PIV intimacy with anyone who isn't a partner for that exact fucking reason.
Tell me why you feel the need to speak of my body like a machine you're testing out for fun. Tell me why you feel the need to go into excruciating detail about the number of trans men and nonbinary people you attempted to detrans by intentionally misgendering and "showing them their true place" while having sex with them when they weren't into detrans kinks. Tell me why you have to remind me why exactly going into these spaces is such a bad fucking idea.
The fetishization of black people and trans people, and especially the fetishization of black men and black trans women (because gods know the shit they have to deal with too), is a crazy ass thing to witness and experience first hand.
how did we lose the plot so hard with feminism and activism like seriously… are we forgetting that being kind and loving to the men and boys in your life, teaching them as kids if you are a parent to be kind respectful humans, and showing them how to be emotionally vulnerable and making a society in which it is safe to do so was like…. A huge part of feminism, dismantling patriarchal values, and creating a generation of loving men who are held accountable for their actions?
Why is it “kill all men yes even the trans ones and if you say otherwise you’re an MRA” and not “let’s maybe create a world that encourages good men.” Did we forget that feminism was supposed to be good for everyone and that the patriarchy harms men and boys as well?
Like maybe we should care about male loneliness and the male suicide rate BECAUSE MAYBE WED HAVE FEWER SOCIETAL PROBLEMS if 100% of the population wasn’t traumatized by gendered expectations and not being taught decent communication skills/how to be emotionally vulnerable. And definitely we would if fucking redpill echo chambers weren’t the places most willing to accept and nurture (groom into hateful ideology) young men.
The problem has never been men, cis or trans, being uniquely capable of evil the problem has always been the fact that cishet patriarchal culture encourages and rewards shitty behavior that makes everyone involved bitter and miserable and calls it masculinity.
