Some cryptic things I carved into rocks to let the passerby’s know that they must be a̶͙̻͇͖̋͑w̷̛͇̖̆a̶̩̗̿̈́̂̚̚ŗ̸̦͕̦͚̃̀̈́́e̵͕͍̥̬͛
😬 Doing this in US National Parks is considered graffiti but the BLM don’t GAF, so make sure you know what’s what to keep from getting a fine.
... this was most likely done in a nearby forest like the ones that are usually near neighborhoods, not a national park, and as someone that roams the forest often i can tell you everything will be fine.
i cant imagine your thoughts on rock painting.
I only mentioned it because two years ago the National Parks Service started tracking down and fining people who were leaving graffiti for social media around the parks. It was supposed to be a fair warning post not a judgment post.
Thanks ✌️
Park service does do this, and we also report painted rocks, and my park has fined people for leaving them, including tracking down people who put their social handles on the rocks!
Also, buckwild to say “Respect the forest” by fucking up a small part of it for fun! That’s like spray painting “Protect Sea Turtles” onto a sea turtle, or carving “Save the Whales” on a whale! It truly boggles the mind!
firstly, the rock isn’t alive, breaking a rock is in no way a threat to the forest. secondly. this was public land, not a park.
The rock isn't alive but it's part of the ecosystem. There isn't a line between the abiotic and biotic components of an ecosystems. Rocks are habitat for insects needed to break down plants and refresh the soul. They're covered with misses and lichens that take centuries to grow. Messing with any component nudges things away from nature.
People already damage nature, and aesthetic damage quickly becomes habitat damage. It's not a wildfire onviously, but unnecessary environmental degradation adds up when everyone decides to carve their slogan in a rock, or pull out a plant, or cut down a tree.
Graffiti of any kind also increases the chance that others will follow suit.
LEAVE NO TRACE
i legit didn’t even know that applied for waste land. the sewage line runs through this place. it’s behind a bunch of townhouses. it’s heavily polluted. do you also think kids building stick forts in the small public land woods outside their house is bad?
