i quite like how the lyrics are very clearly about asgore and Not wholly flowery. its the running thing with him, and with all the other flowers. whole dedication to this person whom they love and wish to care for in any way they can, despite how limited their time is.
sun in his eyes/heart in the sand as asgore's turning away from everything, how painfully lonely the song is tinged despite being the genre that it is. or i guess hand in hand with the genre the song is.
i fucking hate flowery i have to kill him. we have to kill him he has to die and also he makes me miserable. kinda crazy how little he gives to himself. like yeah theres the whole flowery dollars thing and the stuff with his face on them but it feels more like . teasing? he doesnt actually get any self gratification from that showoffishness, its just to entertain someone. or to try to bother them enough to think about themself more.
not supposed to live more than a day, could i do anything to make him laugh, what he wants is what he wants. theres something about that kind of fragility and wholehearted devotion to love thats very special to me. unfortunately flowery is annoying and i have to kill him. (<- joke. mostly. i like him in an i dont like him way. i dont like him in an i like him way. keep up.)
the neglected child of it all. the flowers, i mean. this chapter just hurt for everyone involved huh. like. the scene with asgore comforting kris, completely turning away from flowery. and then dismissing everything flowery tried to do for him. like yes theres the toriel-asgore parallels but its also like. damn. theres something there its on the ceiling. not real enough to comfort you no matter what it is i do no matter how much i want to do it. what he wants is what he wants, though.
also i feel like the 'thank you for watching my dream.' thing is gonna come back and kick our asses later but we got two whole chapters btwn then and now so whateverrrr.
also really happy to see ralsei get genuinely pissed off.
