Ok so I saw this post of Bart with a Lichtenberg figure on him so now y’all get a TMA AU core four edition:
Bart is an avatar of the Vast. What others see as “The Awful Deep,” Bart sees space to run. With nothing in his way, he is the fastest thing there. He can outrun his pain. He can run to the people he loves, saving them from anything that would do them harm. For that, he’s willing to let a few souls vanish into the empty space. He’s willing to be the one to push them.
Cassie is an avatar of the Hunt. The thrill of the chase spurs her onwards, chasing criminals, protecting her people. Her friends help to minimize collateral damage, but for the most part it isn’t necessary. The foes she hunts are more than scared enough to satisfy her entity. Compared to others, her eyes might be a little too bright, her teeth a little too sharp, but the important ones don’t care. They stand with her as she stands with them.
Tim is an avatar of the Lonely. Neglected by his parents, the Forsaken had him marked from childhood. He walks through the world only halfway present. Those he loves can see him for who he is: a tired boy who found comfort in the only company he had: empty air. But to everyone else, he is a wraith. Bump into the cold, empty-looking boy on the sidewalk, and you might just disappear forever.
Conner is an avatar of the Stranger. I Do Not Know You. Superman had looked at him when they first met and turned away. A clone, made by one father to replace the other. He looks like the hero he was mad to be, but he can feel the Luthor lurking beneath the surface. He embraced it, the wrongness that made people steer away from him in crowds. For all their unease, it’s remarkably easy for him to infiltrate places he shouldn’t. People never seem to notice he’s not who they thought in the moments before he reveals himself, when the smile is just a little off.
Despite being marked by different Entities, these four are inseparable. Bart doesn’t mind the void having a few people, if it’s these ones. None of them have ever looked at Conner with suspicion, like he was anything other than what they loved. They help Cassie wash the blood from her hands and bury the bodies instead of shrinking from her grin. When Tim touches them, they don’t disappear.
They function as a team of anti heroes. Teams like the JLA and the Titans try to find them, but it’s difficult to locate anyone the Lonely protects. They travel around, but their home is the compound, abandoned and repurposed by the teen heroes.
