That being said, it is well-documented in this world that DS and Dave are not on the friendliest of terms, and haven't been for almost two years. I like to think it's a more recent development, but I also think that Dave is a selfish person, and he doesn't always see what's in front of him when it doesn't actually involve him lol!

Also I didn't really think of a beginning for those two, but I like to think that Hal and DS have a lot in common, because of who they used to be, and the way canon treated them both in the end. I think it probably happened quietly, a more gradual shift in their relationship, but they also have two other very close people in their lives (Nepeta and Equius) who know them pretty well these days! Sometimes an observant outside party can be all the help you need c: but also I think they'd be good for each other, between DS's patience and Hal's Dirkesian need to please.
