time for some flower headcanons! i love any and all interpretations, but here’s my take on it. note: i’m not a florist or even a gardener so it might be a little off/superficial and unrealistic. due to their ambiguous-ness, i have alternatives too for some. anyway, here you go!
flowery - buttercups. narrative connections aside, they symbolize joy, youth, and playfulness. despite their poisonous nature, to be gifted buttercup flowers, it is to convey admiration and/or a show of affection to the recipient. they give you a sunny glow if you hold it up to your chin.
alternative: goldenstar (chrysogonum). represents hope, optimism, and inner guidance.
aqua - blue poppies. these flowers have various meanings but, positively, they mean purity, imagination, and pursuit of dreams. compared to red poppies (war/sacrifice and remembrance), it’s far more positive and “free”. (himalayan blue poppies are also the most cyan-colored flowers ever.)
alternative: hydrangea. based on the flavor text in the first fight: “smells like hydrangea." (with 3% chance happening.)
seth - clematis. they symbolize ingenuity, cleverness, and mental beauty. purple clematis specifically leans towards ambition and personal growth. they’re known for being the most decorative flowering vines and are surprisingly sturdy during winter.
orange - lion's tail. they represent courage and strength; a symbol of bravery, to say. in bouquets (or gifts for any events), they show victory and a sense of accomplishment. this flower also carries an animal association, albeit quite the opposite to what orange is.
alternative: red hot pokers (kniphofia). invokes passion, courage, and stands out in a crowd.
green - echinacea 'green jewel'. echinacea are often associated with vitality, health/healing, and protection. they’re great in herbal teas but the plants themselves are edible! in general, echinacea have medicinal uses (support immune system, anti-inflammation, etc.).
yellow - cowpen daisies. ironically, they’re known for their resilience. native to north america, they are drought-tolerant and live on disturbed soil. they’re also a favorable pollinator plant, highly attractive to bees and butterflies.
alternative: black-eyed susan. symbolizes encouragement, resilience, and justice. (more fitting for yellow but i’d like to give out more options.)
blue - delphiniums ‘butterfly blue’. these particular flowers are named for their butterfly-like shape. as for meaning, blue delphiniums are generally associated with dignity, grace, and calm confidence. in bloom, their striking color makes them also popular for butterflies and bees.
