This Item defies normal convention when it comes to the ways of the arcane. This item is an unbound wizards spellbook that transforms into a deck of playing cards. This tome contains spells from the wizards spell list and the wielder can add new spells to the book. For each level of the spell, the process takes 2 hours and costs 50gp. The cost represents material components you expend as you experiment with the spell to master it, as well as the fine inks you need to record it. The wielder makes an intelligence (Arcana) check equal to 10 + the spells level to transcribe the spell. if the wielder is attempting to use a spell scroll to add a spell then they make a intelligence (Arcana) check with the DC being 10 + the spell scrolls level.
The tome in deck form has 20 cards in it which are comprised of the spells prepared by the wielder each day at dawn. The wielder prepares six 1st level spells, five 2nd level spells, four 3rd level spells, three 4th level spells, and two 5th level spells. The wielder can use their bonus action to turn the tome into a deck of cards and draw up to 5 cards from it, you do this by rolling a d20 for each card drawn, reroll any matching rolls. The wielder can then use the cards as individual magic items that only the one attuned to this item can use and relative actions to use the cards are tied to the casting time of the spells on them.
This tome also has spell slots equal to a 10th level wizard and all spells cast from this tome have DC 16 or have attack rolls of +8 to hit and uses a +4 modifier for spells. When you cast a spell from the card you roll a d6, this determines the level of spell slot that is used when you cast it. here is an example;
You cast Haste from the deck, you then roll a d6. Since Haste is a 3rd level spell, if you roll a 1-3 then the spell is cast as a 3rd level spell. If you roll 4 or 5 on the d6 then you have to cast it at 4th or 5th level spell. If you roll a 6 on a d6 then you get to choose what spell level its cast at.
Every time you cast a spell using the cards it expends a spell slot from the tome, if you attempt to cast a card and it ends up being a spell slot the tome is out of, the spell fails.
These cards and their magical effects remain for one hour and then disappear. Once you draw a total of 5 cards you cant draw more until the next dawn.
