Some tumblr user which I’m not going to name because I genuinely feel sorry for her, recently stained the name of Revolianism by calling us terfs, and then she said we have a “pride flag”, even though that is impossible because we are not LGBT in any way shape or form and don’t want to intrude either, we just have a flag to show positivity for us, which she decided to hate on, and on top of that, she said that only girls are revolians 😂 (just so you have an idea about how informed she really is). Thoughts and prayers 😔🙏🏻
P.S if you can’t see her post it’s because she blocked pretty much anyone who ever posted in “revolian” or “revolianism” hashtags because she didn’t want us to be able to defend ourselves. A real brave legend.
Learned a new word today: revolianism. Cis straight GNC girls who insist that being GNC makes them oppressed. They definitely aren't interested in being part of the LGBTQ+ community, though. Like literally they get utterly offended if you suggest that their struggles have any congruence with us whatsoever. This coupled with the fact that they're all radfems who see trans people as a threat to their right to be GNC makes it extremely difficult to take them seriously. This is what straight TERFs are getting up to, essentially.
Like, I get it. Gender roles are a shitshow for everyone. But when your movement has its own damn pride flag and you get knee-jerk defensive at the insinuation of having solidarity with the queers then pardon me if it makes me very uncomfortable.
I think my biggest gripe with this is that they act like their struggles with gender nonconformity are unique to them being cis and straight. As if the rest of us get an easy pass for it. No, trust me, we don't have an easier time being GNC just because we're queer. Plus, feminism has already been working on the same issues? "Women shouldn't be expected to perform femininity" is like bog basic feminist rhetoric. Just because you gave it a new name to distance yourselves from the queers and the feminists doesn't mean that the idea is new. Not by a long shot.
Literally we are not radfems and you don’t get to speak for us. I’d very much appreciate it if you’d stop comparing us to terfs and get educated before you speak on something.
The sole purpose of the movement is to not imprison heterosexual people into gender stereotypes just so that they can “signal” their sexuality to others. It is meant to give us freedom to look however we want (even gnc). I have no idea why you would take time out of your day to hate on some people you know nothing about (not only girls are revolians) and try to tear down a movement which only exists to make others feel better about themselves, when the world tells them that they are just “deviations”.
If you really felt solidarity, you would try to speak to some “revolians” before jumping to conclusions. But you decided to block almost everyone who ever declared themselves to be a revolian on tumblr, so that they don’t see this post and wouldn’t be able to defend themselves. That’s really sad.
Hopefully you will find the happiness you deserve one day and see that this post was not only completely unnecessary, but also misleading.

Some people seem to think that straight people who don’t conform to gender stereotypes are just spoilt and are doing it to “be different”.
I gotta admit, I wish that was the case. Unfortunately, being a revolian is just part of me, has always been, and I’ve always been like this and I do not feel comfortable being any other way.
I don’t feel comfortable with wearing makeup or acting “submissive” to get a boy and if you do, that’s okay, it’s just not for me. Not controversial at all.

You wanna know why it’s so hard to be a revolian? People tend to invalidate you, you have no media representation, no bars or places to meet other revolians, you are constantly told you’ll eventually grow up and conform to gender stereotypes and some people can’t grasp the basic concept of a straight person who doesn’t do their hair like/dress like all the other straights.

I don’t have a problem with biology. I have a problem with culture. Specifically, with how culture dictates what men and women can wear. And if someone dares not conform to the already established gender stereotypes, they will get punished for it- be it blunt discrimination or social exclusion.
And that is the problem. If we eradicate the “rules” some people have set so they can maintain their privilege in things like relationships for example, then we will achive that equality.
Because women being pressured to be beautiful and men being pressured to be strong is not cutting it anymore.
Dear straight girls,
-It’s okay to cut your hair short
-It’s okay to not wear makeup
-It’s okay to like baggy clothing
-It’s okay to be athletic
-It’s okay to not shave
-It’s okay to be natural
Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do these things because of your sexuality. Be yourself unapologetically.
In 2019 let’s:
-stop using racial slurs, stop making racist jokes and stop supporting racism at all.
-let’s give more media representation to POC, strong female figures and revolians
-adress issues related to mental health without turning it into a therapy-type thing and understand this subject needs to be talked about too
-stop gloryfing unattainable lifestyles and toxic relationships & friendships
-promote people with strong values and who are a good role model for the younger generations.
-stop blaming millenials and gen Z for everything
-and for real care about the environment; climate change is real and it’s effects are already showing around the world.
If boys want...
* to wear makeup * wear dresses and skirts * wear pink/ have pink anything * play with dolls * wear flower crowns * hang out with just girls
LET THEM ! DONT FORCE THEM INTO GENDER STEREOTYPES!!

I feel like saying a girl is a tomboy was the early 2000s way of saying someone is genderqueer
My personal immediate association is more gnc than genderqueer, but there’s no denying that tomboy does have a pretty interesting place in queer history (aaaand unsurprisingly a history of racism as well - just head’s up for the article I’m about to post). Stop labelling tomboys as genderqueer or queer at all. All you do is encourage the idea that if a girl is boyish she must be gay or part of the lgbt and that is wrong. You just reinforce the stereotype that straight girls must be feminine and they DON’T have any other choice.
Man… talk about sexism… it’s like: Oh you don’t have long hair or wear makeup? Then you might as well not like men and stop identifying as a girl all together.
I don’t care if a celebrity says it’s “ her choice” to objectify herself and other women in music videos/pictures whatever. You’re still contributing to female objectification in the media. With great power comes great responsability and when your fanbase is made up of young impresionable girls you must have something very wrong with you to portray yourself as a sexual object and thus contribute to their gender socialization.
It’s like if a black person made a music video in which black people were depicted as inferior or submissive, but then they would cover it up by saying “it’s my choice to portray myself and other like this!”. It doesn’t matter. You’re still contributing to racism just like these female singers are contributing to sexism.
And NO kind of feminism can excuse this.
