#media representation

I am a redhead. Anna meant the world to me as a kid, as did Merida. both meant so much to me because both were redheads, and Anna had straight hair like me. the representation had variety. and the representation should also be normalized, because as a kid I got tired of being compared to Max Mayfield because that was all I got, no other character.

and not just appearance representation is important. every single time I feel unmotivated to do something, I think of Mulan or Fiona, or other women who are strong in their own unique way and keep persevering, and I think of what they would want me to do.

I am not latin or native american. I'm mixed, african and Indian and other minor things leading me to be very lightskin. And maybe its just my lack of knowledge in comics or a blindspot in my own media consumption but I don't really see media showing how diverse black people can be if that makes sense. There are ethnically diverse characters yeah, but compared to where I grew up, a place with a lot of ethnically diverse people of all different, shades, features and cultures, those diverse characters don't feel very diverse to me. They fit a very specific box of diverse. A box I don't happen to fit in most often.

I really want to see an analysis of various traits and the gender ratios for them.
