I am so confused. Who is this guy, why is there a paint war, and what the fuck is he throwing up a middle finger at/to in the first place? I have literally no idea what’s going on, but I’m curious and wanna know.

Anish Kapoor (who is the one giving the middle finger) is an artist who worked out a deal with the people who created the world’s blackest black pigment in order to have exclusive use of it. Meaning he is the only artist who can buy and use that color. Needless to say everyone in the art community saw this as a dick move. In response, Semple, creator of the world’s pinkest pink, made it so Kapoor was not allowed to purchase this pigment and also made it so no one could buy it for him. Whoever bought that for Kapoor is in a lot of trouble.
