I would watch this movie.

zuko rly thought the avatar was 100 years old, and he was still fully prepared to fucking kidnap him. imagine if that had actually gone down like zuko thought it would. you’re a fully-realized avatar and you’ve been hiding out for over a century and all of a sudden you get approached by this 13 year old kid who’s like “WHATS GOOD I’VE GOT NO DEPTH PERCEPTION AND I’M READY TO FIGHT GOD”

Nah see iroh would walk up to Aang and be like “listen, you ever had kids? humor the boy, I’ll make you some tea.” And Aang never changes so he’d be like “dope free tea this should be fun” and ends up passing wisdom on to Zuko whether he likes it or not, and doing shenanigans to make the trip to the fire nation take twice as long. At one port he escapes and finds another old man and says hey wanna prank a teen and this old dude is like hell yeah, what do I have to do? so Aang’s like imma give you some sick tattoos an zuko is like you know what let’s just bring them both but it turns out the other old dude is king bumi.

Pretty soon there’s a flock of old men trailing Prince Zuko like ducklings, straight up to the Fire Nation Palace to dethrone the Fire Lord

I realize this is an animal crossing meme but as an astrophysicist I was really excited for a second that someone was finally seeing the light on how fricking difficult and a huge waste of time it would be to try to terraform Mars

I love fanfic’s tendency to put absurdly young people in jobs that they could not possibly have until their 40s or 50s. you can tell something has been written by a 14-year-old when a main character is like, 27 and a tenured professor at Brown. some lady is a conductor at 24. god bless.

Every two days a bright green Owlbear shows up and attacks ther party unless they spend 20 minutes practicing their Elven.

This is actually heartbreaking when you remember Lilo tells Stitch her parents went for a drive, and the bad weather caused them to crash.

and now I’m wondering how in the hell Lilo came to the conclusion that there’s a peanut butter loving fish god who demands tribute or else he’ll murder your family. 

When massive trauma hits, some people try to find any way to make sense of what seems senseless. Find any semblance of control, of responsibility. Lilo may be blaming herself (unfairly) for her parents’ death. This was the only connection she could make, the only thing she could have had any control over, so to her it must have been her fault. If only she was a good girl. If only she did the right thing. Then maybe… It’s very very hard to lose a mindset like that even when it’s the most irrational thing, even when it hurts you, because then you’re left with nothing.

And when you’re six your pattern recognition skills are a work in progress. Lilo sees that type of fish one day and as it swims away it starts to rain; connection made.

This movie had some of the best scenes cut out of it. 

So THIS is why i know every line of this scene, my heart knew but my brain didn’t really get why I have memorized it. OMG.

bring back the habits that made you happy as a child. there’s no reason you should ever have to give up harmless things that bring you joy. you don’t have to age out of having fun. finger paint. write mediocre fanfiction and questionable poetry. put chocolate chips in your waffles. sing in the bath, and while working in the yard, and while washing your hands. hammer tunelessly on a piano. spin in circles until you fall down. climb a tree. just because you’re now in charge of your life doesn’t mean you’re expected to give up on the things that make life feel worth living

If I could impart one thing to a young adult - it would be this. This is literally the secret to being okay your entire life.
