It is once again Captain America week for Book Club, for the You Gave Me A Home server, in honor of the Don't Call Me Captain exchange, and we're reading... Iron Man. It's what Steve would have wanted.
Seriously, though, one of Steve's biggest Not Being Captain America moments is his time as The Captain, considered one of the highlights of Gruenwald's Cap run. But we're here because we're Steve/Tony shippers, and so the part of Steve being The Captain that is most relevant to us is his interaction with Tony, which mostly happens over in Iron Man comics. So yeah, we're (re-)reading Armor Wars!
The 1987 arc Armor Wars (IM #225-232), which for the record is actually named "Stark Wars," is part of Bob Layton and David Michelinie's second run on Iron Man (the two halves of their run are separated by Denny O'Neil's run), and it is probably the second-most famous Iron Man arc they've written, after Demon in a Bottle. And, for Steve/Tony fans, there are more issues than just the main Armor Wars arc that are worth reading, so we're reading them.

idk if this is controversial or not, but I really like when non-professional writing like fic has hints of author bleedthrough when it comes to like, what different people assume is common knowledge. Like sometimes Iāll be reading a fic and itāll just be obvious that the person writing it is either obsessed with medicine or has been to medical school, because theyāll use terms that are just a shade too technical without explaining them. Itās never the super specific stuff that theyād know other people are unaware of, itās always the things that once youāve known it for a while you forget itās niche knowledge. Itās fun because as a fanfic reader it reminds me of how this is a fun hobby community, where everyone has their own thing going on outside of fandom. Everyoneās got their own specialties and they canāt help but write that into their work sometimes
