Saph and I both like horror so when I sent them a bunch of prompts and they gravitated towards cyborg Tony, I was pumped because I knew they'd make something cool and I wanted more cyborg Tony works for years. We both liked the idea of leaning into horror so instead of something sleek and streamlined, Saph leaned into something more mechanical. Something that you can feel the physicality of.

I'm losing my mind over this. I LOVE it when Tony tinkers with stuff, and I love it even more that he's working on himself here (sitting on the floor as usual hehe). There's something new that catches my eye every time I look at this because of all the small details like the peek of wiring under his shorts/boxers. Obsessed with the lighting in the workshop and the glow from Tony's arc reactor which makes this colder and more scientific, the copious amount of scarring (the scars that radiate from his arc reactor are so cool ahhh<3), and all the mechanical bits! There's heft to everything and I love the chunky plates and his foot! The contemplative look in his eyes as he looks at his body as a problem he has to solve and tech he has to maintain and upgrade!

The amount of pain that he must have suffered is mapped across his body and told through the scars and the amount of muscle and bone that's synthetic. It makes you wonder what his story is, that he had to graft metal plates onto his body, amputate parts like his legs and fingers (hands?), and more. Surely it had to happen over time, and probably happened a long time ago, because that's too much to swap out at once which reminds me of the idea that I shared with Saph that I had for @stevetonyhorrorfest and I think for Cap-IM's Holiday Exchange too years ago: "Never satisfied with his disappointing son, Howard experiments on Tony throughout Tony's childhood in his quest to make the perfect son and perfect human being." But who knows what happened to this Tony. All we know is that he has a horrible past.
