The Naked Time basically
... Back on my bullshit about fanfic commenting etiquette. Last time was about trying to force an author to rewrite parts the way you want them to be done because you didn't like it, this time it's "spreading your opinion."
DON'T DO THIS EITHER.
Maybe I'm overreacting but this is such Tik Tok, entitled and opinionated behaviour. Fanfic is FREE, if your comments aren't going to be nice, DON'T SAY THEM.
The opinion itself isn't necessarily anything overly dramatic, however, it's an unnecessary comment to which I wrote; "That's totally up to you ofc, this is not a real life story or situation, and this isn't also the kindest comment to leave on a fic."
I figured it was nice and calm enough in response to a comment that kinda gave me the ick. However, their response... đ
Yeah no. This isn't it. (Please don't harrass this person, I've already replied and blocked them)
Gay fictional men regulate my nervous system more than anything modern medicine has to offer.
Gay fictional men are Cortisol Lowering, Pass it on.
Very much in line with Spock's moral code vanishing when Kirk is in danger, Spock's logic also vanished when Kirk is involved. Like okay he'll be like, "BuT JiM, lOgiC!" but Kirk will be like "No Logic" and Spock will be like "Oh yah, okay, sure thing baby, anything for u".

today i bring u a little drawing of spock. tomorrow? who knows!
I keep seeing the Spock that came back in time being called "Spock Prime" but the only thing I'm capable of calling him is Spocktimus Prime
And no, I'm not being intolerant, you're being a shitwit.
And at that point it's not "we disagree" it's "we choose to be ignorant."
Maybe if I just work harder, this empty cup will pour again
Maybe the cup needs a bit of time to rest and refill?
Maybe the cup needs to lock the fuck in???
FIRM believer that Spock fell first but Kirk fell harder, and TOS is just their love story with Kirk falling more and more in love.

The scammer blocked me! Damn! I really wanted to fuck with them some more! I love arguing with scammers!
They messages me on PINTEREST by the way, I've never seen genuine commissioners come from Pinterest.
(and now I'm gonna bait more scammers in here)
also fanfic writers write whatever they want to read for themselves first and foremost. they didnât write to please you, random stranger on the internet.
fanfic writers didnât force you to read their works. theyâre kind enough to let you in their house for free if you want to. if you donât like how they decorate their own house, quietly leave instead of telling them things you want them to change about their own house to better suit your personal preferences and calling it âconstructive criticismâ.
if they specifically ask for one, then sure. give them that. but if they didnât ask and if you donât have anything nice to say, quietly leave.
this is our hobby. something we do for ourselves as a form of self care. we donât get paid for it. and personally if I, as a fellow fanfic writer, want constructive criticism and if I want to âget betterâ at writing, I will ask for honest feedback from people I personally know, whose opinions I trust and value, not random strangers on the internet who, more often than not, just give me lists of things they want me to write for them and their personal likings instead of any actual constructive criticism.
Autistic vampire Tumblr discourse but it's like-
Vampire who explicitly hates the texture of fresh hot blood and only gets blood from blood banks vs Vampire who thinks cold blood thickness is the bane of their everlasting existence and thinks all Vamps should be hunting fresh.
!!!
reblog if you were there for beta
found this on twitter and yeah â while a part of me is convinced this oneâs a bot, unfortunately there are people who actually leave this kind of comment on writersâ works â this and the ai witch hunt are the exact reasons more and more writers stop sharing their works. the level of entitlement to be walking inside someoneâs house, after they were kind enough to let you in, and then starting to criticize the way they decorate their rooms when you can just quietly leave if you donât have anything nice to say.
fanfics are something writers do for themselves. we donât get paid for it. we write whatever makes us happy for our own enjoyment. if you dislike it, thatâs cool. quietly exit the fic and find something else to read. or better yet, write it yourself.
you as a reader are not our customer. we donât write for you. we donât write to please you. we just give you the privilege of reading our works for free. whether or not youâll read it, whether or not youâll like it, is not our business. but you are rude and entitled to be criticizing fanfics like itâs something you paid for and not a gift people were kind enough to give. if we want constructive criticism, we will ask for one. if we didnât ask, stay quiet if you donât have anything nice to say.
not to mention, more often than not, your constructive criticism is never really a constructive criticism but what you personally want to read. keep this up and eventually there will be no fanfics for you to read because no one wants to share their works for free anymore if people will just be this rude and entitled.
BE KIND AND RESPECTFUL TO FANFIC WRITERS AND FAN ARTISTS OR BE QUIET.

That moment when you stop writing your fic long enough that you have NO CLUE where you're at and what details you have in there, so you have to read it back to be able to continue it.
It's 10pm but I want to work on my biggest fic this week, which has 57k already there, so now I gotta go read all of that đ
Good think I write for my enjoyment so I enjoy my own fics!
Friendly reminder to fanfic readers to not piss off your fic authors, especially the rarepair ones. And learn comment etiquette! Don't come onto fics and start saying you don't like how something is written and telling the author to rewrite it the way YOU want it.
It's media you're getting for FREE. You're getting FREE content. If you don't like it, exit the fic and don't leave negative comments. Write your own fic or offer a prompt to a fic writer, we love prompts!
Also it doesn't matter if you write your negative comments in a "lighter" tone. They're still incredibly rude, it's not just "your opinion" it's straight up offensive. Don't do it.
AND CERTAINLY DON'T HAVE THE AUDACITY TO DOUBLE DOWN AND WRITE AN ESSAY ON WHY YOU THINK THE AUTHOR SHOULD CATER TO YOU WHEN CALLED OUT, HOLY SHIT!
Unsolicited advice/feedback is still unsolicited! Don't do that! If we ask for feedback, that's when it's appropriate to give it!
