Warm up sketch before working on my graphic novel class final. I’m doing an adaptation of a song from Rent! Finding ways to fit in some sketches for myself during this finals season.

Growing up, Ray has always been competitive, especially when it came to his childhood best friend Colin, who always seemed to be naturally good at whatever Ray was passionate about. Ray and Colin's shared dream was to become a Knight of Westhulth. They squired together under the tutelage of Colin’s father, whom Ray also sees as a father figure. To graduate and become a knight, squires are paired up depending on their skill level and have to duel each other. When it comes time for Ray and Colin to be ready to become knights, to both of their dismay, they are matched against each other.
