hey so. i put SOOOOO much effort into this au and for what? at least it ended up looking cool? anyways Halloween is my favorite holiday and i just HAD to make something for them!

i had a LOT of ideas for what everyone would be, but i really wanted to stick to a certain theme cause it's based around Halloween. i knew i had to have a vampire, werewolf, and a witch. cause like... obviously. iconic Halloween stuff!! but i took some liberties with everyone else and i think they turned out pretty cool!!

The train station was quieter than usual, dusk bleeding into the sky like a slow sigh. Seonghyeon stood just beyond the turnstile, hoodie pulled low, mask snug, eyes searching.

You didn’t run to him. You walked slow, tired, the weight of unfinished homework and unread texts pressing into your shoulders. He saw it. Of course he did.

“Hey,” he said softly, voice muffled but warm.

You nodded, blinking fast. “Hey.”

Neither of you said I missed you. It was already there in the way his fingers curled around yours, in the way you leaned into his shoulder like it was the only place gravity didn’t hurt.

“I’m sorry I didn’t text much,” you whispered.

“I figured,” he said. “I didn’t either.”

You both laughed, quiet and cracked. School was drowning you. Idol life was swallowing him whole. But here, in this sliver of time before his next schedule and your next test, you were just two tired kids trying to hold each other up.

“I brought you snacks,” he said, pulling out a crinkled bag from his tote. “And a note. For later.”

You smiled, eyes stinging. “You’re ridiculous.”

“I know,” he said. “But I want you to eat. And sleep. And not forget that I’m proud of you.”

You didn’t say anything. Just hugged him tighter.

“I’ll see you soon,” he murmured into your hair softly.

“Even if soon feels far,” you replied.

He pulled back just enough to look at you, eyes soft and serious. “You don’t have to be okay all the time.”

“I know,” you said. “But I don’t want to be the reason you’re not.”

“You’re not,” he said, thumb brushing your cheek. “You’re the reason I keep going.”

The train announcement echoed overhead, too loud for how fragile the moment felt. You both flinched, then laughed again tired, real.

“I hate this part,” you admitted.

“Me too,” he said. “But I’ll text you when I land. And I’ll send you that song demo. The one I said reminded me of you.”

You nodded, already missing him.

He kissed your forehead, lingering like he could press comfort into your skin. “See you soon,” he said again.

“Even when it hurts,” you whispered.

And that was enough.
