“I hate this part,” you admitted.

“Me too,” he said. “But I’ll text you when I land. And I’ll send you that song demo. The one I said reminded me of you.”

You nodded, already missing him.

He kissed your forehead, lingering like he could press comfort into your skin. “See you soon,” he said again.
