I took my farm-girl girlfriend on a horseback ride while we were on vacation and after popping the question, she emphatically agreed to be my future farm-wife.

Her parents were happy to give me their blessing, my dad is thrilled and my previously homophobic mother is ecstatic for us and even helped me ring shop/ bounce proposal plans off of.

It’s been quite the journey since coming out nearly a decade ago, but life is pretty great now.
