there are some… insane takes I’ve seen over how people are reacting over TotalBiscuit’s death.

Like, it’s one thing not to feel anything for the guy. You don’t have to like respect him even in death.

But god. The worst thing he did was have bad opinions, made some bad jokes, and was involved in a huge clusterfuck of a mess that ultimately went nowhere. He wasn’t fucking Hitler.

This is probably where the advice “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything” really comes into play. And if you do say something not nice, don’t act surprised if you see a lot of people calling you out on your bullshit.

For the record, even though I disagreed with him most of the time, I thought he was someone that was much needed in the gaming industry for at least wanting to speak out against the bull that was happening in it. I think we all suffered a huge loss.

The sacrifices—healthy bulls led down to the gates of hell—died quickly without human intervention, but the castrated priests who accompanied them returned unharmed. Now, a new study of one ancient site suggests that these “miracles” may have a simple geological explanation.

Rediscovered just 7 years ago, the gate to hell at the ancient city of Hierapolis, in modern-day Turkey, is a stone doorway leading to a small cave-like grotto. The gate was built into one wall of a rectangular, open-aired arena, topped by a temple and surrounded by raised stone seating for visitors. The city itself sits in one of the region’s most geologically active areas; 2200 years ago, its thermal springs were believed to have great healing powers. Read more.
