Well, every time I thought about telling my mom about us moving, I would get physically sick to my stomach. This past weekend, my sister let the cat out of the bag and told her–definitely more bluntly than I would have liked. She just kept saying, “I can’t imagine my life without you both..” How heartbreaking. It was hard enough before, but it’s going to be even harder now. I love my family so much. They are the only thing this country has for us.

Last night I worked with Jason to update his CV and make a cover letter explaining our situation. We found an impressive company with a position that he would be perfect for—so we sent it in. Honestly, I felt defeated before sending it because I feel like it will be pretty difficult to find a company willing to give us a job offer and then wait for us to go through the visa process before Jason could start. However, this morning we woke up to an email saying they will be contacting him in 2 weeks to schedule a phone interview! Can you imagine??? If this works out, we could be there shortly in the new year!
