Stoicism is accepting that you cannot always control what happens, but you can control how you react to what happens. It is perseverance and doing what you think is right in the face of evil despite the odds or feeling like you cant do anything. It is chosing kindness when the world wants you to be a miserable fuck.

Anyone who finds even a trace of hatred in their heart toward any person or toward any of their mistakes, does not love God at all. This is because love for God does not permit any hatred against one's neighbor.

Don't say, "I don't hate my brother," the moment you don't want to remember him. Listen to what the prophet Moses says: "You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall rebuke your neighbor, lest you bear sin because of him" (Leviticus 19:17).

Sadness is closely linked to remembering evil. So, when the mind contemplates your brother's person and feels sadness, it's evident that it holds ill will, for "the paths of those who remember evil lead to spiritual death" (Proverbs 12:28) because "everyone who remembers evil is a transgressor of the Law" (Proverbs 21:24).

In times of peace, don't remember what your brother said to you when he upset you, whether to your face or said to someone else and you heard about it later, so that you don't fall into the passion of remembering evil.
