canon is what happens in the text. e.g. merlin tries to poison morgana

a headcanon is a fact that you have personally made up as an elaboration of canon. it is your invention. e.g. i think morgana and gwen had a teenage lesbian situationship before the events of canon. or, i think modern morgana would love evanesence.

an interpretation is how one reads the existing text. it is not an invented fact nor is it a headcanon, it is a reading. e.g. i think merlin tries to poison morgana out of misplaced self-hatred. or, i think that one line was delivered with suppressed malice and shows a nuanced relationship.

fanon is the general fandom’s accepted headcanons and interpretations that elaborate or recontextualize canon. e.g. merlin is a badass waif and morgana is a bitch.

even if someone WAS just lazy and simply didn't want to do anything but lie on the couch and watch tv, they should still have these things. it's irrelevant whether some people aren't actually lazy because everyone, including hypothetical lazy people, should have their basic needs met.

if we have the resources to do it, there is no defense of letting people die because they don't want to work, and much less because they can't.

true crime has done irreparable fucking damage to middle class white women

every time i see some middle class white mom of two saying “girlies! you need to get a visible tattoo because then a rando won’t try to snatch you in broad daylight in the middle of the walmart checkout to put you into sex trafficking!” i get pissed off because you are NOT the primary target of trafficking! poor children of colour in underdeveloped countries, indigenous women, sex workers, these are the people in danger!

true crime podcasts always talk about the rare instance a middle class white woman is taken and so these true crime girlies only ever hear about it happening to women like them and start thinking they’re the main target, but if there were a true crime podcast for every poor non-white child who has been trafficked there wouldn’t be enough data centres in the entire world to hold them all! the fact that white women are the focus of these things is because society only gives a shit about white women, and turns a blind eye when women of colour are the ones being victimized!

it all boils down to “it’s fine when it happens to them (poor people, sex workers, people of colour, trans people) because they’re the people it’s supposed to happen to, so when it happens to people it isn’t (middle class white women, white ukrainians) that makes it actually matter!”

thankfully they lost the election and the NDP government did search the landfill and have recovered a body (quickly and way under expected costs i might add) but the fact that sticks in my craw is that if those victims were white women there never would have been a debate. period. they would have searched the landfills without any fucking hesitation. but because those women were indigenous it became a fucking three ring circus

this shit would NEVER have been put on FUCKING BILLBOARDS if those women were white! and it’s all part of the same system of white supremacy that leads to true crime podcasts only discussing white victims, which then feeds into white women acting like the main targets
