Hello hi! Welcome to my blog! It’s time to update this post again! As I said up top, my name is Clam, and I am currently a student working on my Bachelor’s in Entomology! Due to this, I’ll be posting a whole lot of bugs. Everything will be tagged appropriately, but if you don’t wish to see bugs all the time, it may not be best to stick around! Thanks for the visit, though!

When not bugposting, I’ll be rambling and reblogging all sorts of random nonsense, usually pertaining to whatever I’m interested in at that time. I hop around media a lot, but once I get really into something, I Will Not Shut Up About It. I have a lot of thoughts all the time and so help me god I will share them. And if you want to share your thoughts as well, feel free to!! I am always open to asks and love to hear other people’s ideas! And outside of all that, I am a self-taught artist and writer, so expect many doodles and maybe some writing once every few years. My favorite things are character dissection and worldbuilding, so stick around if that’s what you’re into!

Fair warning: While I enjoy discussions of darker material, I am more sensitive to the topics of suicide and self-harm. So, preferably, don’t send me asks regarding these subjects. Thank you.

"the hand that feeds" by the crane wives is awesome, and I really like the part at the end in particular. Loud and rough like the barking and howling of a beast, yet with an element of pride and nobility to it :)

also all the "my papa taught me" sections can definitely be interpreted in lots of interesting ways, maybe even all at once :P Zote learning from his father's mistakes and failures, and, though he'd never admit it, perhaps from his care as well ;)

Yup! You're looking for the family Pterophoridae, or Plume Moths!

There's a lot of variations in how they look, so go wild looking through images. The only Pterophorid I've had the pleasure of seeing IRL in the wild was the Spiderling Plume Moth, Megalorhipida leucodactylus. I sadly didn't get a picture at the time, but you can look through here and see a bunch of examples!
