i understand why folks turn off reblogs on a post but part of me always feels so betrayed by unrebloggable posts on my dash. like oh okay shops closed? just when i get to the door
i understand why people are like "when are we ever gonna use this" about highschool classes, but personally i always kinda assumed it was more like. a taste test for the kids who do wanna use it? like maybe i dont need to reference atomic structure and the periodic table often in my daily life, but i assume there has to be at least one kid in my grade who was like "oh fuck this chemistry shit is awesome" and went on to be a chemist, yknow?
like i understand wanting more life skills to be taught in school and i agree, but i also think some people act as if the ONLY life skills are taxes and housework. do you want school to be a multi-year retail training course with a side of "how to fold bedsheets". that sounds lame as hell. i'll take the algebra thanks.
I swear, some of you people somehow manage to possess all of the three most unfortunate character traits someone can have: a) kinda stupid, b) obnoxiously contrarian, c) deeply annoying.
stuff you say when you donât give a fuck about women quite frankly
It's always important to remember, that suffering does not ennoble, and that there's nothing inherently immoral about wanting to avoid drudgery.
The person quoted in the OP's screenshot thinks Americans should be scourged of their sins by forcing them to wash their dishes by hand, even if they wouldn't ever put it in those words.

I have a confession to make... I thought the idea of wireless headphones like air pods were so so stupid when they first came out. But having owned wireless headphone pods with a case I have to admit that I do enjoy them quite a lot. But we should still eat the spleen of every person who lobbied to phase out the headphone jack in electronics
I saw some weird ass conspiracy video thing today of like 'we were never meant to have access to yeast, that was cultivated in a lab and it harms us' bullshit and I was like well first off there's no such thing as 'meant to' and second of all um? the long history of acquiring yeast from beer foam stretching so far back ??????
....you can acquire yeast FROM THE AIR.
If you want to make sourdough started from scratch, the process is 'mix water, flour, and maybe sugar if you've got it, then WHIP IN AS MUCH AIR AS YOU CAN' and let it sit. And this works. Because there's yeast there. In the air.
Not only is there yeast in the air, it's on a bunch of fruits, too. Ever rubbed a blueberry, plum, or grape, and it was slightly darker underneath? That thin film is wild yeasts. There is also yeasts that live on human skin (and not just pathogenic ones!). We are never without yeasts.
You do not have access to yeast; yeast has access to you.
Eliot Spencer: I work alone
Also Eliot Spencer:
Meet my Scottish buddy, Donnie. He'll do an Indian accent for our con, no questions asked.
Meet General Flores. I tried to kill him once, and then saved his life twice after that.
Meet Shelley. We used to assassinate terrorists together.
Meet my mentor, Toby. He taught me how to cook.
Meet Vance. We were in the service together doing covert government ops.
Meet Paul. He saved my life when we were in the military, and you already saw me almost cry when I thought he was dead.
Okay to clarify I like the movie inception, it's fun and it's well done
BUT
As someone who grew up on Leverage, the concept sends me into hysterical laughter.
Like the Inception writers are all like "in order to change someone's mind you must physically go deep into into their psyche and alter it with your own hands"
And I'm like... have you never manipulated someone in your life?
Nate Ford got a man to change his password to Badger35 just by stealing his highschool reunion. Gave a man a nosebleed with the power of his mind.
Sophie plants ideas in peoples heads all the day long with naught but words. She trained Elliot to make her tea just by tapping his arm.
Like the concept of inception feels to me like those tech bros, you know? The ones that say "I made an AI that can write full movie scripts in ten minutes" and then anyone who knows anything is like "yeah but they're literal shit?"
Like someone watched a master manipulator do their thing and change the mind of a person and was like "I bet I could do this with technology" and they proceeded to make the worst possible deathtrap option for that.

The thing about Eliot Spencer is that, whether or not he chooses to go through with it, he always has an eye to 'what is the most annoying thing I can do in this situation.' He only chooses to do the annoying thing about 15% of the time--usually Hardison or Parker has the "annoy the team members" job on lock, a good 20% of the time it's Sophie or Nate, and the rest of the time he's being a professional on job--but the man is always aware of what he could do which would be the most likely to annoy people.
Poke Nate's ego about Sophie having a team before them? On it. Hug Hardison in an annoyingly back-slapping way when his almost-girlfriend refused him? Of course. Giggle and ignore Sophie when she tells him to kill a cockroach? Abso-friggin-lutely. Dead-pan 'yes, and' Parker when she's asking about conspiracy theories? Sign him up.
The man is a little shit who is (unfortunately) also a professional and he loves messing with people.
(^ man two seconds from raining irritation on an unsuspecting mark)
they really decided to circumvent the âgood guys are boringâ issue by making nate the most unhinged out of the group. he starts acting like a rabid dog menacing the carcass of its prey as soon as he gets a drink in him or someone mentions hospitals. he hid in a trunk for six days to make a bust at his REGULAR PERSON DAY JOB. he feels guilty for cheating on his wife with an art thief even though he literally did not do that. his go-to guy to play in a grift is Mediocre Grifter. his dad was a mob boss and so he decided to be an insurance guy. both the women heâs been in love with are so beautiful, so powerful, and so fucking tired of his self-destructive bullshit.
the second david job is so funny from maggieâs POV. her deeply suspicious date is wearing her ex husbandâs button camera. parked like 10 feet away is a deeply suspicious black van. she opens the van door to her ex husband (moderately drunk), the sheikhâs son who sold the david (with a laptop that was clearly monitoring her conversation), a representative of the vatican (eating gummy bears & shrugging), and the hangar receptionist (also eating gummy bears, not bothered enough to shrug). all sitting crammed in the back of a van looking at her with wide eyes. and the best part is that maggieâs not mad at any of THEM, she doesnât think that these random people (who she is evidently soon told are internationally wanted criminals) might have manipulated nate into this, or that nateâs gotten himself entangled in something by accident, no. sheâs just like "nate what the fuck are you up to now". another day in the life of knowing nathan ford
Leverage x Onion headline
My favourite Eliot Spencer character trait is Friend-shaped To Children. Nate can't look at children without crying. Sophie is politely baffled at the concept of Humans Who Don't Understand Complicated Psychological Concepts Because They Are Literally 6 Years Old. Hardison has older brother energy, which is to say children are comfortable in his presence but they don't actively seek him out, unless of course to play an epic prank akin to the great tradition of Ring and Ditch or Spell ICUP. Parker will try to protect any child she can, but under-12s without autistic criminal intent don't really connect with her, unless of course they are Traumatizedâ˘.
Eliot Spencer is continuously sought out by children of all ages. Traumatized or not? Does not matter. Literally baby or cool teen? Does not matter. They will come up to him while he is glaring daggers or actively planning to murder someone and ask him to hold their hands through the security check at the airport. And you know what? He does. He holds their hand every single time.

I canât stop thinking about how there is actually NO reason why they all needed to go see Sophieâs play before they picked her up in the Nigerian Job and the only real explanation is that Nate was trolling the fuck out of them so he could set them up to be extra impressed when they saw her on her real stage.
It's so funny to me that Sophie takes credit for brainwashing Eliot to make her tea. Like girl, you don't need to brainwash him. That boy is already so desperate to serve.
Nate has nothing but cereal (for Parker) and soda (for Hardison) in his apartment? Guess Eliot needs to go shopping.
Hardison is getting a cold? Dammit, now Eliot needs to make soupâno, don't argue with him, his homemade broth is better than anything Hardison could find at the store. Shut up and sit down and eat it while it's hot.
Parker hasn't touched a vegetable in months? Ugh, fine, Eliot will make her brownies, but he's blending veggies up to hide them in the batter. Yes, Parker can lick the spoon, there are no raw eggs in the batter. Chia seeds work as a binding agent while providing extra fiber, which she also isn't getting enough of.
Sophie wants tea? An excuse to use his fancy tea set? For someone who can actually appreciate the different flavors in his personal blend?
Say less. It's better than Christmas.
