Sorry it took me so long to get to all of these, I’ve spent the last few weeks scrounging up every single resource I could get my hands on so that I could make a comprehensive list of which nicknames are canon and which are fanon and it took a SUPER long time. The bottom line is I ended up accidentally making a whole-ass Google Slides for every single batkid nickname, and while the whole project isn’t anywhere near finished yet, I managed to complete the slides needed to answer all of these questions. So...yeah! Here’s what I found:

Dickie/Dickie-Bird:

Jason seems to be the main nickname-user of the family, so aside from the aforementioned comics, there isn’t very much content of Dick being called “Dickie” or “Dickie-Bird”. (I also want to bring up “Big Bird,” which I see Jason calling Dick sometimes in fanfics. That one’s not canon anywhere, unfortunately.) Dick used to be called “Dickie” sometimes as a term of endearment during his circus days, but after that it’s not likely you’ll see any of his family members calling him something other than Dick. 

Little Wing:

Sadly, “Little Wing” hasn’t been used in any canon content after this comic, which is a major bummer since the fandom has turned it into one of Jason’s most popular nicknames (from Dick at least).

Jay/Jace/Jaylad/Jaybird:

(I didn’t list the comic sources for the more widely used nicknames since they’re so common in comics that you could find them pretty much anywhere.) 

I’d say that Bruce called Jason “Jay” far more during his Robin days than he does now, though that could be attributed to their more distant relationship nowadays. (Or maybe I just didn’t happen to read the specific modern comics in which he called Jason “Jay” or “Jace/Jase”.)

Yeahhh, sorry about this one. “Jaylad” is kind of the Schrödinger's cat of nicknames. The fandom ended up misconstruing the term over time. and losing the comma between “Jay” and “lad” so it became “Jaylad” and everyone just stuck with it.

The main person who seems to use this one is Roy Harper, as I haven’t yet found a comic in which one of Jason’s family members calls him “Jaybird”. You can open pretty much any comic with both Jason and Roy in it and expect Roy to say it at least once.

Timmy/Timbers/Timbo:

I haven’t seen anyone calling Tim “Timmers” in canon, but otherwise, most of the other common nicknames derived from Timothy are canon.

Pretender/Replacement:

I always found it wild how Jason never once called Tim “Replacement” in a comic, and yet we all managed to latch onto it anyway and make it his go-to nickname for Tim? That takes some dedication, man. Otherwise, Jason called Tim “Pretender” a few times during Batman: Hush, and that was about it. 

Baby Bird/Baby Bat:

I know a lot of people hate the nickname “Babybird” (for whatever reason), but honestly, I’m really hoping that DC makes it a thing because dammit, we deserve this breadcrumb at least. As of right now, the only batkid who has ever been called “Babybird” was Damian, and it was by his mom. (In fanon, it’s typically Tim who is called “Babybird” while Dick is “Dickie-Bird” and Jason is “Little Wing”. Who decided this, I have no idea but I’m not complaining.) I also included “Baby Bat” since I see that one pretty often too, and that one is sadly not canon either. The DC writers really don’t want us getting our hands on any family fluff whatsoever, huh.

It is something really normal and boring like a dentist or an accountant or something.

It is something relatively important and unusual. He’s a rep in the national legislature. Professional gambler like his dad was. Athlete. Musician. World-renowned herpetologist.

He’s not away on business he’s just having wacky magic adventures like his son does. He’s saved the world four times already. Oh, you didn’t notice the world was in peril seven times this week? Damn right, because he does his job. Thanks, Mr. Muto.

Yugi’s dad went “away on business” in the same way other people’s dads go out “to buy cigarettes” and never come back.

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Lady this is a skinny influencer in a frilly white dress that's never had dirt on it, with her hair in professionally-done beachy waves, doing a photoshoot in a field using a basket of strawberries bought at walmart as a prop.

And the perfectly manicured nails and Soft, Feminine Hands. The "traditional" lifestyle, apparently is all about being a "homesteader" that never touches dirt or uses tools.

It's just "I want to live like a traditional woman and be delicate, feminine and soft in my Rural Homestead" and it's a photo of this bony, waifish woman in a pristine flowy dress who would die of exhaustion trying to push a wheelbarrow

he’s unsettling.

Batman’s whole basis is the idea of scaring criminals, right?

well, sure, outright intimidation through brute force works for that.

But the whole reason a bat was chosen is that the average person doesn’t understand how cute and cool they are, and finds them creepy and gross.

So let’s play that up. A Batman who uses his training in escape artistry, stage magic, and contortionism to move in ways people think humans shouldn’t be able to move. A Batman who reacts to things that he shouldn’t be able to (because his suit is wired with sensors and Alfred is monitoring things through hacked security feeds). A Batman who has a Slasher Smile.

Give me a Batman who, for the villains, seems like a cryptid. An urban legend on the level of creepypasta, some half-glimpsed shadow who, instead of being scary because of his muscles, is scary because holy shit what was that? What just happened? I’m outta here, man!

Give me a Batman where his battles with characters like Scarecrow and the Joker seem more like one of those crossover films where two horror movie monsters fight it out.

And then?

I mean a Robin who is unsettling precisely because of people having the reaction of what the fuck is this bright and cheery child doing hanging around with an escapee from the SCP Foundation? 

I mean a Robin who is a little too bright and cheery, maybe. And you start to wonder amidst all the smiles and quips, why exactly this particular “robin red-breast” has that shade of red on their chest. Why the red looks a little more brownish, why this child smells coppery when they lean in close to tell a joke. Are you sure they’re a child? Are you sure there’s just one of them?

Black Bat came from the same abyss the Bat itself must have crawled through, everyone knows it doesn’t have eyes or a mouth. But it’s ears hear all, and it has never been defeated. So far as everyone knows it’s never even been hit. Unlike the Robin’s though everyone knows they’re already dead. (Why would they be called Robin after all? If they weren’t Robin red-breast with that tangy scent of blood to herald their arrival) When whispers spread of the Spoiler no one knows what to think, Batgirl ally one who laughs amidst the bats. A void in a purple cloak. No ones seen her face, they don’t think she has one. No she steals the faces of those she fights and uses them in day light only for them to wear out by night.

Nightwing is a wraith in the night all blue and black and void like eyes and sharp toothed smiles. He purrs like a cat a slow wolf like smile and a rolling step that let’s everyone see the danger they’re in. No one has ever figured out where the Nightwing came from but everyone knows he’s one of the bats spread to Bludhaven. The Red Hood come later. The first to bother with killing though only shortly. They say the hood, the mask is supposed to be white but drips with both his blood and the blood of his enemies. Not victims oh no, the Red Hood is after all still a bat. They say he uses guns but no one’s ever seen them, just heard the crack and saw a man fall followed by laughter. The mark on his chest marks him as what the is though it always seems red and raw, an open bleadinv gash. The Red Hood may seem human in form and movements but everyone knows he isn’t. He is after all one of the bats. The Red Robin they say sprang from the blood of the Red Hood mixed with the blood of his siblings, everyone knows after all that the Nightwing and Red Hood are brothers (as much as they can be considered make much less human, there are many that claim the is simply the form they chose to take) the Red Robin is smaller, thinner but always dripping in red. Wings cloaking him and shadow and his voice a steady murmur of thousands of others just as his father’s is. The Bat after all is most definitely the father of these children, these monstrous forms that stalk the night. But the Red Robin knows far more than he should just as Batgirl does, his voice following you through the fight. Telling you of all there is to know about you, all there is that he should punish you for.

The Batwoman is a wraith, the vengeance that is born of the Bats mercy. It must go somewhere, and so it takes it’s own form. Red and black, vengeance that stalks the night. Her hands burn, a reminder of her rage held back through chains barely strong enough to halt her. The Bat cares for all it’s creations but this one he cannot contain nor control and she burns. And she is followed by her own follower a vicious bringing figure, they call her Flamebird and she burns even brighter than her creator. After all Batwoman follows in the Bats foot steps, and every criminal fears what she will bring to bear.
