playlist tag!
@chelseastudies, hey! thanks so much for the tag. I love posting (about) music!
I listen to a lot of music, and all of the music you listed is definitely within the scope of the genres I am most familiar with! I really appreciate you sharing; now I want to go listen to some music iāve been neglecting recently! okay, letās get into the post!
Rules: You can usually tell a lot about a person by the type of music they listen to! Put your favourite playlist on shuffle and list the first 10 songs, then tag 10 people! No skipping!
Okay, so, while I do have a few, I honestly had some trouble finding a playlist with more than 7-8 songs in it. I make them very intentionally, so they usually donāt have much bulk. that said, Iāve chosen to go with a playlist called āwhere It all began.ā i made it to describeāaurallyāthe kinds of music that helped shape my taste in music over all.
all of my playlists are in Apple Music, and if anybody is interested in listening to them, feel free to message me and Iāll send you the info! okay, lets go:
1.) Roll the Bones by Shakey Graves
2.) To Be Alone (Live) by Hozier
3.) The Chain by Fleetwood Mac
4.) Cry Baby by Janis Joplin
5.) I Canāt Quit You Baby by Gary Moore
6.) Roadhouse Blues by The Doors
7.) Good Time Boys by Red Hot Chili Peppers
8.) Hear My Train a Cominā (from the album People, Hell and Angels) by Jimi Hendrix
9.) Cocaine Blues (Live 1997) by Bob Dylan
10.) Blue and Lonesome by Little Walter
I also have soooooome:
HONORABLE MENTIONS!:
1.) Too Young to Go Steady by Tristan Melias Trio
2.) Traveler by Hippo Campus
3.) Fallen by Jaden Smith
4.) Cliche by Jeff Parker
5.) Kush & Corinthians by Kendrick Lamar
Okay, I know thatās a lot but hopefully people enjoy finding out about these things and check out the music I have here, if you havenāt already! I would like to tag: @h-grangerstudies, @kjemi, @h-o-r-n-g-r-y, @kaiyastudies, @socrtes, @stellar-kinematics, @studyingfilms, @sweetstudymine, @planetarystudy, and @emerald-studies and anybody else who would like to participate!

playlist tag!
Hi @ox-blr! Thanks so much for tagging me! I really loved the chance to just sit down and listen to music for a bit.
I think my music listening habits are a lil sporadic.. Iāll have a really good playlist and listen to it relentlessly for a while. Then, Iāll get into a book or podcast or learning a piano piece and my free time will go to that. I love music though and plan to listen to some of your songs soon!
Rules: You can usually tell a lot about a person by the type of music they listen to! Put your favorite playlist on shuffle and list the first 10 songs, then tag 10 people! No skipping!
Alright! I listen to music via Spotify and have a few different playlists based on general vibe/types of song. So, Iāve shuffled all my āfavoriteā songs in hopes my wide variety of music gets a fair chance!
1.) Aphrodite by RINI
2.) Your Dog Loves You by Colde feat. Crush
3.) Runaway by Eric Nam, Steve James
4.) 2 soon by Keshi
5.) You Will Never Know (English Version) by McKay
6.) Love Like That by LambC
7.) Supermassive Black Hole by Muse
8.) Lalala by Soobin Hoang Son
9.) Spanish Guitar by Toni Braxton

If you havenāt done this yet and want to, Iād like to tag @herelysiansoul, @music-of-languages , @rylie-studies (I listened to IDK You Yet after seeing you mention it a few times and LOVED IT! I hope you donāt mind the tag, just looking to peek into the rest of your music ā”) , @nakshatragranger , @srustudies , @plant-blr , @studylmao , @studyingchemeng , @fernw00d , and @beginagxin !

I donāt usually soap-box, but Iām going to for a hot sec since this has been on my mind:Ā
Cults are getting better branding, prettier leaders, hipper-sounding cosmologies, and wider reaches due to social media. Theyāre not all deity-focused. Thoughtful, intelligent people can get sucked into them. Justā¦stay safe out there, guys. Do your research, look at all your options, and trust your gut, not groupthink.
Iām glad this is resonating with people.
I do want to emphasize, again, that cults (and toxic groups with cult-like attributes, Iām using this term pretty loosely) donāt usually look like what youād expect. A lot of toxic and dangerous religious movements are tiny and you wonāt find much about them via Google. Cultish non-religious movements are the same way.
Start-ups, multi-level marketing companies, activist groups, fan groups, political groups, and internet mystics who run retreats can all be cult-like and dangerous. Tune your BS detector, ask family, friends, and experts for advice.
Here are some warning signs:
Pressure ā pressure to make quick decisions, to give (or pledge) considerable amounts of money, to move in with a group, to abandon family or cut off friends. Elevated Leaders ā anyone claiming special insight, special powers, or that they arenāt human. Demanding special treatment (compared to other followers). Misuse of funds or money collecting at the top. physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse. Lack of accountability or oversight. Isolation ā encouraging (or requiring) members to cut off family relationships, friendships with those outside of the group, leaving jobs, moving to isolated areas, taking away communication methods. Strong āus-vs-themā mentality. Vilification of ex-members. Love-bombing. Altered states of consciousness ā long work hours, sleep deprivation, lack of access to adequate food or water. Otherwise unproblematic activities like meditation/prayer/chanting, but done for hours. Discouraging doubt ā discouraging or punishing doubt and critical thinking.

Yeah. I was about to say. Heās that fast because heās being paid by the pound, not by the hour. So he has to or else he wonāt be able to make enough money to put food on the table.
Yeah this is the exact reason slave-grown crops were always lower quality back in the day. Brutally exploited workers, overworked and underfed, trying to reach harvesting quotas as quickly and efficiently as possible is obviously terrible for workers, but it also significantly lowers the quality of the food you eat

Hi! Yes! So! This is a very talky talky talky comic, so Iām sorry if you donāt like to read a lot of words, but I made this to sort of walk and talk myself through some thoughts and questions Iāve been having over my gender and sexuality.Ā Making it actually did help me sort a few things out!Ā
Ā But yeah, the gist of this comic is that Iām a big blobby mess of gender and sexuality feelings, and I donāt feel like I fit nicely into one label, and thatās okay.Ā Gender identity and sexuality are such diverse human experiences, it just makes sense that we donāt have a label for all the infinite combinations out there.Ā I tried to force myself into nice, clean labels for a while, because it was easier than actually diving into my identity through a HUGE amount of self-reflection.
Now that Iām getting closer than ever to defining my identity, I get worried that itās too complicated for people to understand, or that people might think IāmĀ ācringeyā or weird. But you know what? Humans are complicated.Ā Humans are weird. If harmlessly trying to understand myself makes me cringey, well, then I sure am! And thatās fine by me!
And, well, if Iām able to help even just one person either with figuring out their identity, or accepting themself as they are, or even just bringing a smile to someoneās face as they read my comic, then thatās all I could ever ask for.
Yeah I got all talky talky talky in my caption too, huh? Oops. Well, itās a complicated subject and I guess I have a lot to say.
And thereās a lot of thoughts about my identity I didnāt even cover in this comic so uh. Future comics?? Sure!
Okay! Have a great day, yall!!

conversations about beauty standards & the beauty industry is imo the most frustrating and depressing conversation to have......... like for every one video or post about how women should not have to be beautiful there's about a million about how "actually if you want to spend thousands of dollars invested in your physical appearance that's your CHOICE and fuck those ugly hags who tell you otherwise"
What always gets me about these conversations is that it literally doesnāt matter how many times the person stipulates āIām not saying you should never invest in yourself/Iām not saying itās your fault if you wear makeup/I do it to/none of us are immuneā bc INEVITABLY someone will misunderstand the fundamental point that structuring womenās worth around their beauty is sexist and it WILL backfire & it IS a system of social control to like......... bitch about how dare someone say I donāt have a right to do whatever I want with my body & itās like maāam ššš maāam PLEASE
someone: so what do you think is the solution to homelessness?
me, socialist:
Let homeless people occupy peopleless homes, build houses for use rather than exchange, 3D print comfortable houses in a day, convert corporate skyscrapers into housing and commercial malls into publicly-accessible community centers with living commons and entertainment
When you say it to people and they break
āBut the money? ⦠we canāt just? But, Money? We canāt just⦠help⦠people? Can we? The Money. We canāt just help people? Like that? We canāt just? Money?ā
To really break them, tell them itās cheaper to give homeless people homes than it is to leave them on the street.
The same people who balk at the idea of giving homeless people free housing and giving everyone healthcare are the same people who donāt bat an eye at spending trillions on the military and billions on a racist wall
Itās because theyāre not thinking of the reality of the money. Itās because they hate poor people.
Ask the Bitches: How Do I Stop Myself from Judging Homeless People?Ā
I feel like people have forgotten about this
Stage-Toph:Ā āI see everything that you see, except I donātĀ āseeā like you do. I release a sonic wave from my mouth.ā *elongated scream*Ā āThere! I got a pretty good look at you.ā
but the LOOK on Tophās FACE it is the best thing E V E R R R

The Batmanās Grave #9 (2020)
I found this thread extremely helpful. Iāve been feeling so rundown and depressed these past few weeks and itās good to know Iām not alone. And itās good to remember that I wonāt always feel like this. (Im also gonna reblog with an image description in a sec hang on)
[image description: a thread of tweets from Dr. Aisha Ahmad, from September 20, 2020:
The 6 month mark in any sustained crisis is always difficult. We have all adjusted to this "new normal", but might now feel like we're running out of steam. Yet, at best, we are only 1/3 the way through this marathon. How can we keep going? THREAD /x
First, in my experience, this is a very normal time to struggle or slump. I *always* hit a wall 6 months into a tough assignment in a disaster zone. The desire to "get away" or "make it stop" is intense. I've done this many times, and at 6 months, it's like clockwork. /2
This time, our crisis is global and there is nowhere to run. That's OK. I've had to power through that 6 month hump before and there is life on the other side. Right now, it feels like we looking ahead at long, dark wintery tunnel. But it's not going to be like that. /3
Rather, this is our next major adaptation phase. We've already re-learned how to do groceries, host meetings, and even teach classes. And we have found new ways to be happy and have fun. But as the days get shorter and colder, we need to be ready to innovate again. /4
This is my first pandemic, but not my first 6 month wall. So, what can I share to help you? First, the wall is real and normal. And frankly, it's not productive to try to ram your head through it. It will break naturally in about 4-6 weeks if you ride it out. /5
Of course, there are things we have to do. Work. Teach. Cook. Exercise. But just don't expect to be sparklingly happy or wildly creative in the middle of your wall. Right now, if you can meet you obligations and be kind to your loved ones, you get an A+. /6
Also, don't be afraid that your happiness & creativity are gone for the rest of this marathon. Not true. I assure you that it will soon break & you will hit a new stride. But today, roll with it. Clear away less challenging projects. Read a novel. Download that meditation app. /7
Frankly, even though we cannot physically leave this disaster zone, try to give yourself a mental or figurative "shore leave". Short mental escapes can offer respite and distance from the everyday struggle. Take more mental "leave" until you clear the wall. /8
In my experience, this 6 month wall both arrives and dissipates like clockwork. So I don't fight it anymore. I don't beat myself up over it. I just know that it will happen & trust that the dip will pass. In the meantime, I try to support my mental & emotional health. /9
Take heart. We have navigated a harrowing global disaster for 6 months, with resourcefulness & courage. We have already found new ways to live, love, and be happy under these rough conditions. A miracle & a marvel. This is hard proof that we have what it takes to keep going. /10
So, dear friends, do not despair of the 6 month wall. It's not permanent, nor will it define you in this period of adversity. Trust that the magic that helped you through the first phase is still there. Take a breath & a pause. You'll be on the other side in no time. /end ā¤ļøšš½
