One way that Taylor has described this album as her life behind the curtain, including her post-show come down. I argue that this image artfully plays with the bridge between performance and the authentic self. Even on her way to her hotel room, room service on the way, the showgirl continues to posture and perform. Still glittering, still stuffed into her tights and heels. Almost as if the show is never truly over. She is now the glitter on the floor after the world tour.

Taylor’s exact dress was originally a custom design which the designer told me took her and her team 13 days to make. Of course! Randall has since put the dress up for sale as a commissionable piece, named so after “The Fate of Ophelia” naturally.

Imagine being a Kaylor or a Gaylor and receiving that 🤣🤣

That in itself is really mind blowing. I think it’s saying ie (as in ‘in other words’) because the uppercase letters are saying one message and the lowercase message is clarifying.

I took a quick look at the uppercase letters but don’t have anything to report at the moment. Curious if you guys will find something before I have a chance to think about it more tomorrow.

Every time I see Taylor say she wrote the album about/during the eras tour I laugh out loud because there's no way 🤥 We know she's a liar (affectionately) but people don't want to believe it even though she's called herself a cheat/liar/mastermind countless times ~~

Case in point A: the Anti Hero MV that came out in 2022 ⬆️ You're telling me this is a coincidence when she's already confirmed she can plan things 3 years in advance? Mmmkayyyy sure👌🏼Taylor really went, "you know who I'm gonna hang in this bathroom for no apparent reason?...My beautiful showgirl grandmother, Marjorie Finlay 💖"

So what does that mean? It means 'Actually Romantic' isn't about 💚 so everyone can calm down 🙌🏼 ... Or don't I guess -- I have my own suspicions about who the song is about but I'm not 100% sure so I don't wanna say....I will say though the lyric video is a dead give away in my opinion💡~~

It also means 'Wood' definitely isn't about 🏈 -- actually, none of the songs are -- but I appreciate Taylor's effort in painting such a solid lenticular image -- she picked the perfect person to match up with 👯‍♀️🌻☀️

I loved Taylor’s vision for “The Fate of Ophelia” music video of transposing the concept of a showgirl across decades and eras. We saw this play out through different artistic mediums including paintings, plays, choreographed showgirl productions, and pop star parties - to name a few. 

This particular setup of Taylor - in custom Versace - appeared, to me, to be a nod to Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. If this is indeed her point of reference, I’m glad she thought to include Marilyn as an aesthetic pin point on her showgirl timeline. Indeed, Marilyn stepped into many roles that riffed on the showgirl trope throughout her career including the aforementioned Gentlemen Prefer Blondes as well as Some Like It Hot and The Prince and the Showgirl.
