I don't know if I have any active followers left, but here goes. I didn't end up converting to Catholicism. I am still very involved in my church. I have been working away for the past couple years in a new job, just got a promotion that is moving my family and I to Richmond, Virginia. I have a son now. Life is strange and beautiful. I'm asking more and more questions about Catholicism. I barely use this hellsite anymore but some of the people I follow on here are Catholic and I've always had an interest in the historic Church, probably because my dad was a professor of Church History for a number of years. Was anyone going to tell me this Christian maiden was thrown to a brothel for her confession of faith and refusal of marriage but the first guy that burst into the door was a soldier who believed and who disguised her in his uniform so she could get out then was taken to be martyred himself and when he got there was met by the maiden who refused to let him be martyred alone, or was I just supposed to read a reference to it in a medieval text on friendship and follow the footnotes to another medieval text which records it as a well-known tale to use it as an example of courageous virgin martyrs myself?
