im an anglo-catholic in the US. i was raised irreligious, and in my search for a faith, i formally converted to judaism in 2019, before being baptized and confirmed in the episcopal church in 2025. i attend an anglo-catholic parish (where i altar serve (yay!)) im also a member of the society of mary, and am discerning a vocation to a dispersed religious order :)
im a strong proponent of inclusive orthodoxy, and fully affirm the participation of women and lgbt+ people in every sacrament of the church. i also affirm the historic creeds.
as an anglo-catholic i maintain some devotions as a matter of personal piety that the larger anglican communion doesnāt require. i have a special love for the sacred heart of jesus, st. paul the apostle, and st. michael the archangel. my baptismal saint was julian of norwich, and my confirmation saint was thomas the apostle.
in my daily life, im a phd student in english literature (talk to me about t.s. eliot).
im always looking for other christians to follow/talk to! feel free to dm me :) also always open to prayer requests.
(i will not be following minors or christopagans as a personal preference.)

ok to return to my previous fixation from before my current fixation: beads have been ordered and this will be the configuration of my priests' rosaries for christmas. that im starting early because getting married in october will cut into my rosary making time
Had a bit of a Moment (a long time coming tbh) earlier regarding (vaguely alludes to currently-ex-but-formerly-Very-longtime-mutual and Current Affairs) and had to let out a bit of a cry to the heavens. And needing to be kinda vulnerable here but I'd kinda like someone to join me in praying that the Lord will open the eyes and hearts of those who have willingly closed them in the face of genocide, even when confronted daily with images and videos of rubble, bodies, flames, tents. That they will join in our cries for peace, justice and freedom.
Praying with you! Would also like to ask for the prayers of folks reading this for Palestine and for the victims of the genocide, that our hearts may all be softened and our eyes opened to their pain.
Grant, O God, that your holy and life-giving Spirit may so move every heart, that barriers which divide us may crumble, suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease; that our divisions being healed, we may live in justice and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Almighty God, who hast created us in thine own image: Grant us grace fearlessly to contend against evil and to make no peace with oppression; and, that we may reverently use our freedom, help us to employ it in the maintenance of justice in our communities and among the nations, to the glory of thy holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
For the sake of the Holy Innocents, slain by cruel Herod, may we never turn a blind eye to injustice and never forget the sorrows of those under tyranny and oppression. Amen.
okay maybe still not over my priest saying maybe i should start a community. the fact that he thinks that i could even do that. erm he might respect me guys

hii (i'm the anon from a few days ago that mentioned a call to judaism) and. thank you so so much for the prayers you included they truly truly hit my soul <3 and you absolutely do not have to answer this but if i may ask? what was it like to convert to judaism and then to christianity? once again you do not have to answer but rn i feel like i'm drifting and would love to hear your conversion story if you'd like to share? sending love and light your way btw <3
My second conversion was absolutely terrifying and also the best thing thatās ever happened to me. At the time I remember asking someone half-jokingly: āDo you ever feel like youāre being hunted by Jesus Christ?ā because I so desperately did not want at all to be a Christian.Ā
I want to preface things by saying that there are things that I will always keep with me from my past, and I have only immense love and respect for Judaism. Iām going to try to not make super direct comparisons between my experience of each as a religion because I donāt at all want to seem like Iām negging Judaism or to make it seem like a stepping stone to Christianity-āI do think that it was what I needed as a very young person who was scared of religion as a whole.
I was raised nonreligiously and without any religious education. I became interested in Judaism at 16 after reading a book in school, and started to go to a reform synagogue the next year. Christianity was never an option in my mind. I had been a sort of embarrassing atheist, and was still incredibly antagonistic toward Christianity as a whole (ādeath cultā did come out of my mouthāLord have mercy). Above all, I believed that Judaism made the most logical sense out of any tradition that Iād looked into, and that the claims expressed by the Christians that Iād known were incoherent (the only Christians in my extended family were evangelical and Iād only had bad experiences). Iāve always been guilty of trying to intellectualize faith, and Iām grateful that the tradition that Iām in now both allows for that intellectualization in its long history of theology and tradition but also evades it, forcing me to accept mystery.Ā
I formally completed my conversion to Judaism at 20, and I do think that after that I always had the sense that something was missing for me. At the time I thought that it might be the nagging desire to have converted orthodox (an impossibility, as I identified as trans masc at the time), or just a manifestation of my OCD. There was one instance that I remember, though, sitting on my floor, begging God to just show me if he had a Son. I quickly swept that thought away, feeling guilty for thinking it.
After college, I moved away from my hometown and started grad school at a Catholic institution, where it felt like Christ was inescapable (crucifixes in every classroom, a statue of Our Lady that said āBehold Thy Motherā at the base, church bells ringing throughout the day). One summer, I read the New Testament for the first time, after being frustrated by missing religious allusions in poetry I was studying. It took me twelve days to read, taking up all of my free time, and I thought āOh, no. This is true." And I tried very hard to fight off the knowledge that God became man. The Incarnation changed everything for me. It was unspeakably beautiful, and I was horrified. I felt like I was ābetrayingā Judaism, and I was scared of Christians, and it took me several months from that moment to step into a church.
It was an Anglo-Catholic Mass, on All Saintsā Day. It was absolutely stunning. I shook hands with the priest and surprised him by telling him that Iād never been to church before, and I stepped out of the church doors and just laughed with nervous relief. It was all true. A professor of mine at the time was a Roman Catholic priest, and I asked him to talk, too. He told me that the feeling that had led me to that point was the Holy Spirit and not to ignore it, and this comforted me massively. I still go to that first church, and the priest whose hand I shook that first time after that Mass baptized me that Easter. Thank God! :)
priest said in our meeting yesterday that sometimes Godās voice can sound to us like the adults in charlie brown where we know heās talking to us but itās like wawawawawa and weāre like WHAT? and unfortunately he is right

priest agreed that we should have holy hour and said maybe weāll start having mass on saturdays with adoration and the rosary (imagine me screaming and exploding). and he essentially insinuated that i should start my own religious order or some kind of prayer group that takes it very seriously. Hi
priest has stepped away to attend to the rectoryās flooding basement so i can briefly say that this meeting has been infinitely helpful so far. everyone go talk to your priest about the thing that is bothering you
