I've updated Carrier Wing Ypsilon!
The complete patch notes are written on the linked devlog, but here are the main points:
Some updated and some entirely new character art by @setzeri
Added space battleships and modified mission 4 to include said battleships.
The planes now carry visible weapon pods.
Added a new special plane.
Some gameplay changes. Including a more flexible target selection and a simplified landing sequence.

I read player feedback on the demo of Carrier Wing Ypsilon [Steam] [Itch.io], and people were saying that the character art didn't suit the game's look, them being too cartoony in comparison to the game. A fine point, which they were absolutely correct about.
I did adjustments to the art so they fit the game's aesthetics slightly better. Next demo will have these updated portraits. It was good to have some outside perspective from people who haven't seen my artstyle before.
New characters drawn with the new, gritty style from a scratch, who will also appear in the next demo.
Looking good.
The new sprites keep the feel and character of the originals, but the new shading and colors fit the 3D assets better. A great iteration overall.

Another game concept I've been thinking is a post-apocalyptic setting with a positive theme where people have started rebuilding the world. Inspiration comes from Metal Slug, Sentinel Girls and Arknights, so it'd be a 2D run & gun action. Won't be as big with the adjacent art as Exit the Dragon other than few concepts.
