Be Still.

The Noahic Covenant, found in Genesis 9:8-17, is the promise that God made to Noah and his descendants after the flood which destroyed the world. The Noahic Covenant has several distinguishing features. First, it is an unconditional covenant. Second, it was made to Noah and all his descendants as well as “every living creature” and the earth in general (Genesis 9:8-10). Third, it was sealed with a sign, the rainbow.

The Noahic Covenant is an unconditional covenant because it does not depend upon anything Noah or his descendants had to do to fulfill the covenant. The promise is based upon God’s faithfulness alone. Because of God’s faithfulness to always do what He says He will do, we can know today with certainty that there will never be another worldwide flood as there was in the days of Noah, no matter how wicked mankind becomes. Neither the wickedness nor the righteousness of mankind affects this unconditional covenant. There is no "condition" under which God will renege on His promise. This does not mean that God will never again destroy the earth, however. He has promised to one day destroy the earth by fire (2 Peter 3:10, 11; Revelation 20:9, 21:1 ) in the terrible events known as the “day of the Lord.”

A helpful resource: Grow. It's a Christian social media app. Free on play store. If I ever take a social media break she's my girl. How long you’ve been Christian: My answer to this is kind of long 😂 I grew up Catholic and have always know of Jesus my whole life. However, my relationship with Jesus really grew once I became Protestant and got baptized as an adult. To be honest, I don’t remember the exact date. But it was in 2024 that I was baptized. So, I would personally say I’ve been Christian for 2 years.

Favourite verse/verses: Oooh. I really like Matthew 6:25-27

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

As someone who struggles with anxiety, I just love what Jesus is saying here. It’s a good reminder that God has everything under control, and that my life is incredibly valuable to Him.

Favourite book: I find Revelation fascinating personally, so I think that might be my favorite book! I also enjoy reading through Matthew.

Currently reading: I’ve been reading through Genesis all year with my Women’s Bible Study group, but that study recently ended. So I might read through Exodus next. Or I might go over some parts of my Genesis study. To be determined 😊

A helpful resource (if you have one): There is a website called Got Questions that I LOVE! It’s great for pretty much any questions you have! And they have an app also! Speaking of apps, I also enjoy the YouVersion Bible App! Great for having a Bible on the go, and for starting daily Bible reading plans on things you’re interested in! How Long I've Been a Christian: Since 2021, so five years now. In late 2020 I was feeling a pull towards Him that I didn't really want to acknowledge until the events of the 2020 election, and even then, I always said I was just "trying Christianity on for size". I wasn't truly SAVED until He rescued me from some dark stuff I was suffering from in the following year.

Favorite Bible Verse: Colossians 3:25 "Whoever does wrong is repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism."

The Lord led me to this verse after I listened to a documentary about some pretty terrible people doing some pretty terrible things. I was really disturbed and upset, and He told me to read Colossians before I went to bed... And then I read that verse. It brought me a lot of comfort to reaffirm that His justice is perfect and He cannot be swayed by the sweet-talking and bribery of the World. ♡

Favorite Book: I find Luke to be the most informative of the Gospels because of how meticulously he wrote down everything (He was a Physician, after all!) and I really jive with his manner of script.

A Helpful Resource (if you have one): I do!! The Faith & Action bible study series!! My Church used them for some of our studies and the workbooks make things so much easier to comprehend and relate to. They were also written for missionaries, so they're also good resources for folks whose first language may not be English!

Where was God when this happened to me?: He was there—He sees everything (Prov. 15:3)

Didn't He care? Yes, He did and still does (Nah. 1:7; 1 Pet. 5:6, 7).

How could a loving God allow this to happen? God gave His creations freedom of choice. He did not make people like puppets (Deut. 30:15-20).

Does the Lord understand how I feel? Yes, more than anyone (Is. 53:3; Heb. 4:15).

Is recovery possible? With God all things are possible (Matt. 19:26). Yes, He wants to bring healing to you (Jer. 17:14).

How can I be healed? Trust God to be faithful to His Word (Ps. 18:25).

Where do I begin? God hears you— confess your hurt (Ps. 34:17, 18). Give your hurt to Him (1 Pet. 5:7). Forgive the one who has grieved you (Col. 3:13).

Isn't forgiveness difficult? Yes, but what God commands you to do, He will equip you to do (1 Thess. 5:24). Realize that God has forgiven you (Eph. 4:32). Recognize that forgiveness is not the same as reconciliation-the former is something you are called to do; the latter is something that requires the offender's repentance.

Then what do I do? Don't take revenge— God will deal with the violator (Rom. 12:19). Look ahead rather than being controlled by the past (Is. 43:18, 19). Look for the good that will come out of the bad (Rom. 8:28).

When will I heal? Healing of deep hurt takes time (Eccl. 3:3). It is a process of:

facing the harm (Ps. 51:6)

acknowledging your feelings (Eccl. 3:4-8)

applying God's truth from His Word (Ps. 107:20)

working with wise counselors and caring friends to deal with ongoing hurts

We Christians in fandom need to stop hiding our faith. We need to be honest about how our worldview affects our interpretations of media and the fanworks we create.

We shouldn’t be bowing a knee to popular fandom and instead not be afraid to stand apart if we disagree with fanon. It doesn’t have to be as blatant as only drawing the characters praying or something. Even things that subtly reflect our worldview are enough. Straight ships aren’t taboo. Strong female characters can have families without being weakened. Couples can have healthy marriages. Characters can be forgiven for past vices. Antagonists can have redemption arcs. Happy endings aren’t unrealistic.

And I’m not saying we should attack people for having other interpretations, but that we shouldn’t be afraid to say “no, I don’t ship that” “no, I think they would forgive (redeemed character)” “no, I headcanon this character as Christian” “no, I don’t follow popular fanon” 

None can do what you do!

There is nothing new under the sun. Sin just gets repackaged into different things, but it is still the same old thing. Man (without Christ) is capable of great evil, as we all have seen throughout the history of mankind. Only the grace of God restrains his hand.

And yet, Christ can totally transform a sin-sick heart. Nothing else. And so this Gospel ought to be preached—boldly, unashamedly, vehemently—in spite of the evil that ferociously tries to silence its power.

And try it will. It could look like losing friends and family, or your job and financial stability. It could look like death.

But to live is Christ and to die is gain. This gift propels and empowers us to stand upon the truth no matter the cost, even if it costs us our life, because either way, we win. The world can kill us and they'll rejoice thinking we've lost, but all death can do is usher us into the arms of our Savior.

Lose everything, and you still gain Christ. So preach the Gospel. Refute ideologies that thwart God's creation and make a mockery of Him. Protect the defenseless and the voiceless. Work unto the Lord. Love your family and raise your children in the knowledge of God.

To live is Christ. To die is gain. We can say this only because of what Christ has done.
