Each artifact scores up to 10,000 points, and you lose points the further away your guess is and how far off in time you are. You can only play once a day. #definitely so much room for improvement #but I was absolutely stoked over the ones I got right #turns out I’m much better at guessing the times of things than the locations #which was a surprise #I got five artifacts within the time range #but only two inside the distance range #(although I was SO close on one of them)

Today I found out one of my oldest cousins just landed in the hospital with a spontaneous brain bleed. Just like my mom.

#funny how new health worries hit as you get older #this one was NOT on my bingo card #right now the prevailing theory is stress #…which means I need to start managing my time and doing yoga and focusing on inner health stat #two of these related to me? is two too many.#to be fair it’s actually three #my grandma had one too but hers was definitely caused by a bad fall in her 90’s so that doesn’t count #mellia rambles #personal

#one funny side about this whole neuro adventure with Mom #her second language somehow remained intact #and it’s her first language that she’s struggling to remember #so today she kept lapsing into Swedish #I know a (very) little so I could translate for my sibling #the doctor said this is his second person in 20 years that has lost their first language while retaining their second #…you know come to think of it #mom’s grandpa when he had Alzheimer’s he lost his English and reverted to Swedish too #so maybe there’s something in the way our brains are hard-wired #then again it was his first language #mellia rambles

Mom update: she’s still in rehab, but she’s developing pneumonia and is so so discouraged.

Please pray for her strength and peace and healing.

#all she can think about is the big trip to Europe this summer #which we bought and paid for #and which is looking less and less likely #I keep asking her to focus on smaller goals first #but every doctor she asks if she can go to Europe #and then gets really discouraged when they say no #(which of course they do—right now she can’t even walk to the bathroom unaided)#she’s fixated on two things—that trip and some really awful past trauma #and neither one is conducive to peace #I would love if we had a miracle that would let her go #but if not #God is still mindful of us #mellia rambles #meanwhile I’m at home taking care of my chronically ill sibling #who has taken a turn for the worse #and the more complicated relatives have realized something is up and are beginning to circle #we’ll get through this but boy howdy right now it’s hard #prayer request

Superman Comic

For anyone who dosen't know- the Superman (2025) suit was pretty bulky and a bit too thick to really be worn under civilian clothes like a lot of classic superman suits. James Gunn instead suggested that he hid his briefs in his briefcase, go figure. Anyway that was worth a comic:

#my first desk job I found a giant-size plastic container of bubblegum shoved way back under the desk #left by the previous employee #but there was no gum inside #I pried off the lid and found it full of blue and red fabric with the Superman logo on top #imagine my surprised delight #anyway it turned out to be a Superman apron #but now I know where Clark Kent keeps his uniform #it’s under his desk in a giant container of Dubble-Bubble #superman
