lust is my #1 enemy…i feel like i stumble w this more than any other sin and i’m so tired of it. ik that u also need to solve the problem before getting into a marriage bc getting married isn’t supposed to magically fix ur lust, but like…i kinda feel like it would tho?? at least for me. bc i don’t struggle w looking at other ppl lustfully when i’m already dating a man, it’s just abt trying to not let sexual thoughts plague my mind. but when ur married then that’s acceptable provided that it’s abt ur spouse
sigh idk. anyway please just pray for me to overcome this stupid sin unless it’s meant to be the thorn in my side, and if it is, then that the Lord will reveal this to me. also if you’ve largely overcame this issue then please share any advice you have. ik the best thing u can do is take ur mind off of it but i feel like i can only do that for so long. how do i go more than like 2-3 weeks without stumbling???
LETS GO KNICKSSSSS AYYYYY

My moto:
The man🗣️
One of the reasons people give for not wanting to burn every religion down to the ground is that it's a "coping mechanism" for some people.
Except it doesn't help you cope with anything.
Instead of helping you cope with the fact that you're a finite being with a finite existence, religion tells you that you can actually live forever.
Instead of helping you deal with moral ambiguity and the difficulty of figuring out the right thing to do in a given situation, religions tells you there's a One Size Fits All solution.
Instead of helping you understand other people, religion says that you are better than everyone else just because you're part of the religion and that anyone outside the religion is evil.
I think that's a very poor understanding of Christianity, let alone other religions
It is.
Anyone: *describes Christianity*
Christians: "Um, actually, you don't understand Christianity, because if you were good and smart like me, you'd think the same way I do. This is because I was raised to believe anyone outside the religion is evil."
Way to strawman, dude.
Am I wrong, though?
Absolutely? Dude, this is arrogance you're trying to assert as fact.
Christianity is not about being either good enough or smart enough, its about Christ, its about who He is and what He's done. Honest Christianity does recognize evil in every man, because man is a sinner in need of saving - whether he believes he is or not. The goal of the christian life isn't to be better than anyone else but ourselves, and to do good in the world (and I mean "good" by God's standard); modeling Jesus to others, for others, and sharing the good news of His death, burial, and resurrection so that they too may be saved by faith in Christ.
Christianity says the finite days on earth have a greater purpose towards the infinite.
Christianity acknowledges the moral ambiguity of the world and offers a framework for moral decisions.
Christianity admits we are all just as bad as any other person on earth in the eyes of God... but crucially, provides the hope of peace, grace, and mercy despite all our failures that we can share with others.
It does all the things a worldview should, and more. Not only does it answer the standard worldview questions:
what is good? What happens when we die? What is the meaning of life? How did we come into existence? How can we know anything?
But it also answers a bigger question: how can what is evil be redeemed? With an answer different from any other religion: not by works we have done, that none may boast, but by the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.
Jesus doesn't force you to believe him. He says, "whoever has ears to hear, let him hear." Sure his followers get that wrong sometimes. That's why we need him in the first place. (And no one here is denying the crusades etc) But Jesus also says that the good seed in good soil will produce one hundred fold. Which means that his genuine followers will proclaim him.
Op, you are right that this makes a poor coping mechanism, but what you have missed (inadvertently or intentionally, I don't pretend to know) in the bitter taste you have in your mouth over this is that it is not so one dimensional as you claim.
Additionally, there is a difference between someone truly forcing another person to believe what they do at risk of being considered stupid otherwise, and someone who believes in something correcting a description of that belief that is incomplete at best and wholly inaccurate at worst.
Anyway, I have nothing further to add and will be largely unreachable hereafter.
"Christianity says the finite days on earth have a greater purpose towards the infinite."
That's just saying "Don't worry about dying because you actually live forever," which was my original point. You can't just put it in different clothes and call it a different thing.
"Christianity acknowledges the moral ambiguity of the world and offers a framework for moral decisions."
Yes, and this moral framework is "Do everything exactly as we say or you will be punished forever because the person who made it is perfect and you're not allowed to question them." Also my original point.
"Christianity admits we are all just as bad as any other person on earth in the eyes of God… but crucially, provides the hope of peace, grace, and mercy despite all our failures that we can share with others."
Have you fucking read the Psalms? Or like, anything by Jesus or Peter or Paul? All of them go on and on about how people outside their religious circles are uniquely evil and stupid. And if the only "hope" you can provide is "Be exactly what I want you to be and you might get out of going to Hell," then you don't have any hope at all.
And the main problem with Christianity is that there's no evidence any of it is true or even fucking possible. You're going to need to prove that your magical god exists first. Which is something that Christianity has failed to do every second it has existed. You all keep saying that it's so obvious that your god exists, so where's your proof? Collect it and get it sent in for peer review. Don't hide behind the moronic idea that you can't observe your god. You claim to observe him all the time.
I wish you were capable of putting value to your days and your life, because you aren't understanding what my sister-in-Christ is saying: there IS an eternity, and until you can prove otherwise, you've got more to your life than you know, but aren't accepting.
Once again, you are reading, but not comprehending: neither her or I have claimed that Christianity is a list of do's and don't's, its a framework designed by a sentient and higher moral authority than us humans. What's more, the reason we are about Christ is because Christ literally saves us from having to uphold a law we are incapable of fulfilling. Speaking of God's law and the christian moral framework, have you heard of the channel InspiringPhilosophy on YouTube? I highly recommend it, and here are a few links that explore the influence of Christianity on the world, with effects we still very much feel today.

Have YOU read those books? I just finished readiby through the New Testament not too long ago, and unless I die before I get to it, the Psalms are not far ahead in my future, but I can tell you that elitism is not a theme of either Jesus or Paul. Holiness? Yes. Separation from God because of sin? Absolutely. "We're better than everyone else, and also smarter, wiser"? No. If anything, the christian is only wiser than the world because they know God, but wisdom and intelligence are not the same thing. Furthermore, you've missed the point of both the gospels and the epistles: we all are sinners in need of rescue, Christ IS that rescue, and as Christians we are no longer slaves to sin but free and deemed "righteous" by God because of the gift of faith He gives us, and as such we are called to a righteous living, not an elitist living. I highly recommend you go back and read Matthew, John, Romans, and Galatians.
Now, do you have proof that there isn't any evidence? Even the mere deist can logically deduce than something cannot come from nothing, and you'd be asking me to have an impossible amount of faith to believe that all of reality - with its laws, complexities, and beauty - are the result of some thoughtless, random chances. You're going to have to do a lot better to convince us that Christianity isn't true than assert there's no evidence - when this conversation alone is evidence enough for me that God exists through your own attitude and reasoning; you lean on your own understanding, and I'm not convinced by it. So far, atheism hasn't produced anything worth calling "truth" beyond subjective relativism.
But to conclude, I have to ask: what exactly is evidence for you? Do you want God to write His name in english in the sky? Make a nebula that looks like a cross, or write "John 3:16" in the DNA of every human being? We in the 21st century are sitting on mountains of philosophy and history, science and societal experimentation that speak to the inspiration and efficacy of christianity. Take me as deflecting, being dismissive, whatever, because the truth is that I honestly believe you aren't really interested in evidence, you're really just more comfortable in the, rather ironic, authority you've given yourself on the subject and have it in your head that we are the fools here.
p.s: a reddit thread you might be interested in regarding evidence for the crucifixion (here)

I SEE ALL YALL’S TAGS IM GONNA GET TO THEM EVENTUALLY I PROMISE
Hey, did y'all see this?
I saw this when running newpipe. But wait, it gets deeper. I clicked on the details buttons and it said as of today, we have 83 days left until Google rolls out this new requirement for apps inside and outside of the google play store. If any developer disagrees with their new terms and fees, they will be blocked!
I'll share some of the info below:
Looks like they're trying to nuke the remaining privacy and freedoms we have left on the internet.
What to do?
-Get your developer friends to not comply to their new guides
- Sign the open letter on the site and take action by checking out the full resources list on their website as well!
To summarize, this is all daunting especially when you feel all alone with unfair and inhumane regulations comming out faster than improvements but we got this working together!
Share the link with your friends, family and anyone who will listen!

the way people are blatantly ignoring that a boy was murdered by another who willingly brought a knife to a track meet which he was not even supposed to be at is genuinely just making me feel so sick. they only care that karmelo is now in prison, they don’t care about the boy who was brutally killed nor the people who testified saying it was unprompted.
when cops use excessive force they (reasonably) get heavily criticized for it, but this kid does it and suddenly he has a whole fanclub. sickening.
karmelo will get out and still have a whole life ahead of him. austin will never come home.
“beautiful kind soul” and a “sweet boy” when he MURDERED AN INNOCENT PERSON…did we all forget that that’s not normal?? like when i was 17 and angry at people i didn’t stab them to death. you know not to do that at that age, and prior to that age. you’re not just some “innocent baby who does good in school 🥺 and made a widdle mistake 🥺🥺” this is actually so sick that people are infantilizing this murderer.
