Look, if you want to have sympathy for US soldiers - save it for the veterans.

Veterans in the US are treated like shit. Denied healthcare, denied disability benefits - a lot of them are radicalized by the experience. A lot of them are fascists or entitled asshats, but you can say that about all Americans (especially white male ones). If they are willing to change, it's fine to give them a chance.

But right now American soldiers in Iran are hired killers, a blunt instrument of the American empire. Every American soldier who dies is an American soldier who won't kill or bomb innocent Iranians. Every American soldier is a casualty that could speed up end to this war, as a proof that it was a mistake.

And hell, those who do come home are more likely to be radicalized once they realize the truth - that their friends died for the Epstein class and oil industry.

Death is bad, but death is inevitability in war. And from all possible deaths here, deaths of US soldiers is definitely the best outcome. Every dead Iranian soldier would be used as a proof of success of this absurd illegal act of aggression, and every dead Iranian innocent civilian is a travesty and a war crime.
