white t girl i love you. and also do not forget that you are not the modern martyr for the oppressed voice. that's still black girls. it's always been black girls. stories of black martyrdom simply don't make it into the news cycle until the unrest caused by its reporting can be packaged as a "riot" segment between traffic reports. i know you suffer, but whatever you're experiencing, i beg you, when interacting with your community and building nuanced understandings of each other and the system which binds us, to not forget that a black tgirl has felt it 100 times worse before positioning yourself as an authority on all systems of oppression for having suffered unjustly at all. because you have suffered unjustly, but suffering unjustly as a white person means something so much different.

emotional responses are deeply evolutionarily advantageous in any animals that are making complex decisions and behaviors (in many vertebrates, say) because they act as a reinforcer for a behavior. a bird taking a vigorous bath in a puddle is probably happy because if that behavior didnt elicit a positive feeling they wouldn't do it (it is dangerous to be on the ground and wet!). if an animal can feel fear, which i think is a less contested assertion to make, then it can certainly feel the opposite, that is, happy.

genuinely cannot believe the attitude some shapeshifters here have towards static beings... like. you're mad at us for saying you shouldn't shift into someone without asking first?? be fucking for real right now. if you shift into a real person you literally take a piece of their consciousness in your own to be able to channel their visage. it's incredibly fucking disorienting to have a literal piece of you ripped away from your consciousness for g-d knows how long for someone else to play a silly prank (not to mention how fucking awful it is to have your visage used for something you would never do) and if too many people shift into you at once it can have incredibly damaging repercussions!! like literally ripping your soul from your body and killing your physical form. thats literally what happened to elvis. so many people started impersonating him and it fucking killed him. if any of the shifters on this site ever actually did any research on static people they would know this but they don't care because static pain is only a big funny joke to them 🙄

This episode ends with Geordi saving the planet by using something derived from the technology found in his visor (an adaptive device that lets him sense things around him). So a disabled man literally saved the lives of an entire culture that wouldn’t have considered his life worth living, using technology they would have never deemed necessary without the presence of his unique needs.

I don’t watch Star Trek, but I can’t stress enough how important this message is
