-he only finds out davey’s ticklish because they get into a small shoving match over who ate more of the bagel they were eating. jack went to pinch davey’s stomach to joke that he knew where the bagel went and davey, as graceful as a swan, nearly slipped off the stoop they were sitting on

-jack’s favorite way to tickle him is to sit on his legs or waist and just attack like that because he can reach all his favorite spots, and can access both his very ticklish knees and hips that way, and see the reactions davey would try and hide. looooots of teasing about his blushing and how he’s laughing so loud for such a quiet newsie

because he played a delancey i circumvented the “original” part. he DID understudy jack (I highly recommend checking out his santa fe. his full show is on soundcloud) so here are a few for his portrayal of jack.

-he’s a little more confrontational/aggressive. he’s not going to just let his friends cool off, he wants to know what’s up if he can help. he’s kind of that way in everything he does but its for a good reason. 

-definitely tickles people just to be annoying or make them feel seen. he loves picking on the newsies who claim to be too old for his foolery (e.g race, albert, buttons and even finch) to show his love

-l o v e s tickling katherine. he’ll flirt with her in a way that will get a rise out of her (she denies shes blushing the same pink as her nails ((he usually calls her “kitty” or some other nickname that only he has for her))) and will pull her into his arms to add to her giddiness and time it just right that she lets out a squeal when he prods his fingers into her side

-absolutely lives for holding whoever he’s tickling close so they have to hear him teasing. he loves saying stuff like “you sure sound pretty damn ticklish for someone who’s sayin they’s not ticklish!” 

-Davey is very new to the dating game, especially since jack is his first boyfriend. he’s new to the fond looks, sweet nothings and those kisses and the soft touches with calloused hands that come with dating him.

-especially the soft touches. growing up with les, it was all quick, rough pokes to get the other to start laughing so that they would pay for their petty comment in breathlessness and ticklishness until they give in to an apology, or just to tease his little brother

-davey’s always afraid of seeming like a pompous asshole around the other newsies because he went to school. he knows how fortunate he is, and he knows things are different for other people. so he’ll shy away from conversations sometimes or simply not talk a lot around the others for fear of slipping up

-jack notes this fear, and his hands find that they are especially comfortable on Davey’s lower back for a brief moment, giving him a little “motivation” to speak by gently prodding into the ticklish spots on his lowerback or walking his fingers up to squeeze at the back of his neck

So when this new guy shows up, completely outta place and not a clue what he's doing, Jack can't help but want to give him hand. So he buys the cute guy fifty more papes, because he is cute and why not, and honestly even when he signs up to partner with the really pretty boy he doesn't think anything is going to come out of it. The kid reveals he's got a family, and he probably ain't gonna want to stick around all that long and if nothing else Jack has a new friend out of the deal. But THEN

And Davey spends an awful lot of time around the Lodging's, with the boys, and he and Jack end up a lot closer than he expected. Even if he isn't sure quite why, he can't get Davey out of his head and looks forward to sharing his newest thoughts and headlines with his selling partner because Davey has just fit in his life. Even if doesn't realize any of it 'cause it all just feels natural.
