Does it have super oily skin since it lacks the fur to absorve the natural skin oils just like hairless cats?(this would mean it leaves massive stains on sofas and such too)

Oh definitely <33 The general heat and grime and dust and shed fur of living in the city does bother it enough that it regularly visits the river (the bathrooms in the bodega are tiny and has no bathtubs), but Scita is just constantly cleaning greaseprints

It is passingly familiar with the concept of television, and it can read (a rare thing amongst pokemon). It just doesn't see the appeal of most fiction because pathos has no effect on it, it lacks context for a lot of modern media, and its area of interest is rather narrow. If it reads/watches Project Hail Mary, Mewtwo would be the type of person to be more interested in the commentary on human nature and how it's reflected in our spacefaring efforts than the actual characters as people. It would enjoy things more if it actually knows more about the process and technique of writing fiction, but alas that wasn't pertinent to being a living weapon, so.

...that said, there is one exception. Even Mewtwo could see the parallels between it and a certain hedgehog. Reading about Shadow gives it something almost like hope

As for what it actually likes, medical texts (if only because it is a product of medical engineering), battling analysis (of course), action horror movies where a giant monster kills a bunch of people (don't look too deep into this), and true crime

The average human shrugs it off as “huh never saw that animal before, looks like Psychic/Normal?”, people who encounter it more regularly (customers at the bodega, people in the neighborhood, ect) sees it as “that white kid’s pokemon that he’s having Ms Tan look after”

All the wild pokemon that can sense its power recognized that it’s Legendary-tier and potentially a threat. What they do with this information individually and collectively depends on the pokemon and their social groups

As for the characters in the story so far

It was the most fun I’ve ever had

yeah theyre still poking and prodding at it but this time the air is a little dusty, the lights are dim and flickering, there' a friend by its feet, there's people talking and milling about outside, and the doctor smells like cigarettes

It's easy forget how much our other senses contribute to memories rather than just simple sight and touch, and you communicate that so well :) let the psychic cat be happy and calm in a safe environment

That is one way to interpret that, but I was going for something a bit darker

Well, *gestures at mew and mewtwo* there is no native long lived pokemon except Darkrai. This wasn't a choice that's supposed to have much meaning (it's just an observation of how my city/country seems too quick to forget its history) but it ends up lending weight to Darkrai's claim that these are lonely and hostile lands! Every pokemon that chose to live here is a pioneering species and even with thousands of years of change, the lands still favor them over more permanent residents. Which is why the famously solitary nightmare pokemon settled here in the first place

idk had a lonely birthday awhile ago and been thinking thoughts

(or maybe feb 6 mewtwo was only the first viable mewtwo-like lifeform from mew and not cerulean cave mewtwo, eh)

Mewtwo knows it's at least 30 years old (the constant sedation and medications made the first few...years(?) very fuzzy), and it knows its actual year of birth is written down somewhere, and it made the decision not to look

Kaleido knows, and therefore both Ela and Vanilla know too, but it's not relevant to its current state so they don't bring it up. It hasn't been here long enough for its birthday to roll around, but Ela at least plan on a gift of some sort. Vanilla is not sure she’s close enough to broach the subject with it, and Kaleido can't keep track of days well enough to consider birthdays important

As for Mewtwo itself, when the day does come...
