So the other two in my group are used to my antics by now. We’re all friends, so the pair of them decide that the one guy in our group gets to be the nurse. Now, my Juliet and I have been friends for a couple months by this point, so I decide to be a little more dramatic.

We put Juliet on a spinny chair, and pump it up as tall as it goes, and my baby, closeted lesbian ass crouches on the floor, ready to be as melodramatic as possible. Like, I’m about to do a rendition that makes William himself walk into the class and tell me to take it back a notch or twelve.

And then I look up.

And holy shit.

There she is, Juliet, haloed in the worst fluorescent light known to mortals across the globe. Light just streaming down around her, that weird off-green colour that it always is. And she’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. My little gay soul is barely holding on as the words barely leave my lips, breathlessly. “But soft… what light from yonder window breaks?”

And Juliet was the sun. Romeo was not exaggerating that line at all.

many of which are poisonous and have been shown to cause cancer. youre not even supposed to sniff it, because that can get spores into your lungs. like if you look up the health and safety guidelines for mold they barely stop short of telling you to put on a hazmat suit. 

I love Shadow and Bone, as well as it’s characters, but if I’m being honest, the finale of S1 and its narrative is upsetting at best and actively disconcerting at worst. even though this discusses what Alina says a lot, I do want to say that I really like her and that it’s not an issue of her character, but of whoever wrote and cleared the S1 finale.

both the noblewoman who confronted the Darkling and Alina say the same thing, that ultimately, it’s the Darkling’s fault that people will hunt the Grisha now. that he was the agitator and because of that specifically, the Grisha will suffer retaliation. but that’s a fallacy, even if we only argue within the text, we’ve had seven previous episodes show us that that is wrong. the Grisha are actively being made outcasts, even without the Darkling, they are hunted and killed in Fjerda and used to be murdered in Ravka. the murder and oppression of the Grisha is neither the fault of the Grisha, nor the Darkling, and that the narrative presents it that way is incredibly disconcerting.
