Daily Respectful Apollo Obsessing

I'm finally comfortable in my body, I'm comfortable with my identity, I don't worry about calories when buying food, I don't feel the need to put on a full face of makeup before going outside, I don't feel self conscious about every word I say and don't feel the need to think of an excuse or reason for my presence in this world

My mind is calm, I feel like I'm living rather than just surviving again

And what did it take? Years of struggling with every aspect of my mental health, years seeking a diagnosis which would explain why I am the way I am, radical self acceptance and focusing on myself, being the centre of my life and placing myself before anything and anyone else

Mental health professionals and medicine saved me, they brought me to the point where I was able to focus on self improvement

And it'd be a lie to say that my beliefs didn't help with self improvement, with radical self love and acceptance and opening myself up to the world and the opportunities it will bring

Maybe this is a sickeningly sweet post, I'm not sure why I'm sharing it, but even if I'm writing it just for me I'm glad I've reached the point where I can say "I'm okay" and geniuenly mean those words. I am okay, and I appreciate it so much, it's like the first clear breath after weeks of a horrible cold
