we r facing an art crisis like no other . capitalism wants artists to fucking hate themselves so they can make more profitable art . there's nothing wrong w wanting to become better at something but industry has started bleeding into fandom and hobby spaces and NO ONE is calling this shit out ! and now we see millions of artists hate themselves because they're not doing realistic anatomy when they're like. 12 . or it's not even young ppl . it's abt how artists at a mass scale feel demotivated to draw bc they want to be better. it's CAPITALISM guys! and any of you feeding into the idea that all artists should strive to improve is stupid!

the advice functional people give dysfunctional people is so funny. “get your shit together ahead of time” is not viable advice. my friend w severe depression telling me he just showers with his clothes on sometimes and then hangs them to dry so he doesn’t have to go to the laundry? i keep that one in my back pocket Just In Case
