hello! we are The Clementine Grove, or just Grove for short. we are a traumagenic CDD system who only accepted its plurality recently. we still have a lot of learning & self-discovery to do! we are bodily an adult. here we will be building up a collection of system stuff, & also the system userboxes we’ve made!
we do not have a dni as such, but we do not want any syscourse being brought here. we also reserve the right to block anyone being bigoted/threatening who is making us or others feel unsafe.
we aren’t sure who’ll post here most (if at all) but quite a few of us have taken an interest in this account to some degree, so expect a fair few of us to appear occasionally.
we are verryyy new to tumblr so bear with us please! ♡
it’s likely we won’t do sign-offs all the time, and we aren’t all comfortable with sharing anything about us except our pronouns/an emoji we like.
our userboxes will be tagged with #clemboxes (and other system related userbox tags too) to hopefully make them easier to find :-)
we will be using the language we are most comfortable with for userboxes (which is system/alter)- but feel free to request them with alternative language! we also don’t care if you edit the userboxes yourselves/repost them elsewhere/take inspiration from them/etc. all we ask is that you don’t claim to have made our userboxes yourselves! aside from that, we don’t care about crediting really. it’s appreciated but not needed :-) /g
on a personal note re: how to refer to us and such/general info: our host(s) are trans men, so when referring to them specifically or the body we exist in, please use he/him. Outside of that, it/its or they/them for the system in general. Specific alters do have preferences other than he/it/they, but that’s a lot of explaining, so if you’re unsure, then the above pronouns are fine. as a system we have various diagnoses including autism, OCD, severe chronic/recurring depression (that’s a tricky one lol), several anxiety disorders, etc etc blah blah. boring long list, you get it. we are nonverbal (we use AAC, namely our phone, & we understand VERY simple BSL/makaton) and we are higher support needs. you may see us posting about our physical disabilities sometimes too. Basically, we have very limited energy & capability to post frequently/consistently- please bear with us!

i think a lot of younger systems would be better off if they took a minute to stop stressing about roles or consciousness labels or headspaces or origins and just treat members of their system like random guys. that one headmate you can't tell the role of? they like hot chocolate with marshmallows and listening to the rain. you too. you need to be a random guy. being a random guy is good for everyone.
I think that it's really important for people to realize that being disabled is traumatic. genuinely. your body and brain feel like they are breaking down and wrong. you are in constant heavy stress from stuff like chronic pain. most disabled people i know have a somewhat regular emotional break down from the trauma of it all. and we are expected to just smile through it by society, to not be in the way, to not be an issue.

Realising we are a system has put into context so many things. But the thing we are realising today is that our behaviour did make sense. It may have been impulsive, reckless, and frankly self-endangering; but it made sense. We’ve spent so long thinking we do things for no purpose other than to create further chaos. But no- we’ve just been reacting in the ways our traumatised little brain saw fit. We have been continuing to act in the ways we learned would keep us safe in an unkind world.
Maybe a simple, basic realisation to have at this point, but honestly…? It’s a relief to have even a vague understanding of our own behaviour.
It's been a while since I've seen a post like this, so... Here's some tips for figuring out who's fronting if you're having trouble!
Try calling yourself by the names of selves you suspect you might be until one of them clicks and feels right. (Or get someone else to do this to you.)
Set up a personality quiz with your system – with different alters as the results – and take it!
Consider how you'd feel if you were told you absolutely were not (insert headmate here). Would you be frustrated? Upset? Would you instinctively push back against that assertion? If so, this is probably a good indicator that you're that headmate.
If you keep descriptions of your sysmates, read through them and see what you relate to, and if you ever feel like anything is referring to you specifically, or that you wrote something.
The previous suggestion can also work for journal entries if you keep track of who wrote what.
This is not an exhaustive list; if you find a different method that works better for your system, use it! And remember, if you feel deep down like a specific system member... you probably are that system member. Good luck figuring out who's fronting and who you are!

Userboxes….. Very eclectic bc tired and forgot about themes/even making userboxes 😭😫 also forgot this is meant to be an account limited to system stuff so. Consider this an apology-offering collection of system userboxes 🥴🫰
- 🌙&🪦 posting (but the last 3 were made by other alters 🩶)
I always see people complaining about queer events being held in bars/nightclubs because they sell alcohol, but you can always go to those things and just not drink. I can't go to queer events at bars/nightclubs because they're never epileptic friendly. I never have and probably never will see a drag show because they come with strobes. I have to stay home while my friends go to bars and clubs because there will most likely be strobes there. I can't participate in a large majority of my community because going there will send me to the hospital and ruin everyone's night. Why do we need to have strobes at things.
How do you try & make a point about inaccessibility in queer spaces by….. claiming that the inaccessibility only affects Your Type Of Disability and other disabled people can just…. Put up with the inaccessibility & Magically Find That They’re Able To Avoid It Entirely by…. Somehow being less disabled.?
Like… Absolutely talk about the way inaccessibility affects you & your disability. ALWAYS. Accessibility is a basic right, and nobody should be denied the ability to access experiences/places/community on the basis of disability. But you can do that and make that point without minimising and dismissing the experiences of people with different disabilities to your own and how the inaccessibility also affects them.
Addicts/people with substance use disorders don’t get to “just not” have an addiction for a fun night out. And that can apply to people in active addiction, people who are two days sober, people who are a year sober, and people who are decades sober. Speaking from personal experience here: we are over a year into sobriety and the only way we have got this far is the fact we don’t have the ability to get our DOC anymore- combined with, get this, the total avoidance of any functions/places that would potentially involve substances. If we stepped foot in a gay club, we would relapse because of the fact there are substances everywhere. Pretty sure we would ruin the night too by ending up in hospital. Not really sure you picked the right group of disabled people to try and swing at. It’s not as simple as “just don’t drink”, and even if it was something we could just muscle our way through & try to handle, that kind of takes the “fun” out of “fun night out”, no? (/rhetorical question, it definitely takes the fun out of it lmao).
This post feels like it’s trying to put disability in some sort of messed up hierarchy where some disabilities need better accessibility, and others can supposedly just… Put up with inaccessibility? As if that excuses the fact there is inaccessibility in the first place? Nobody should be left out of communal & culturally important spaces. Nobody should be being told to put up with inaccessibility because “others find it even more inaccessible”. It’s lateral ableism, but also just… Rude and unnecessary. It’d be like us saying “anybody who doesn’t need a mobility aid needs to stop complaining about inaccessibility at queer events, we can’t even get into the events!”- which would obviously be a ridiculous & ignorant thing to say. Like. We get to complain about the fact that we can’t even get up the steps into the damn place, and then also complain that if we get up the steps we are then met with triggers that would spend us spiralling back into active addiction…. We can multitask!!!
So yeah, maybe call out inaccessibility without putting other’s very valid & important points down in the process. Queer spaces shouldn’t have strobe lights that make them inaccessible to epileptic people (& of course others as well, e.g. people with chronic migraine, autistic people with visual hypersensitivity, & many more). We can then follow up that sentence by saying queer spaces also shouldn’t all be centred around drinking/bars/have so much of an emphasis on needing substances to “have a good time”. There should be strobe-free & sober queer spaces. Not one or the other- both.
TLDR for those who can’t do longer reading: strobe-free and sober queer spaces should exist. Access for all, not just a few. Lateral ableism won’t rid the world of ableism- it creates more.
Anyways peace out, this was exhausting to write lmao if there are typos pls excuse us we are veeeeery tired.
