it sucks that the overwhelming majority of medical messaging around salt/sodium is "evil poisonous substance that you're definitely already eating way too much of," because like. you do still need it. (trust me, as a POTS-haver, I've had to completely rewire my own brain about salt.) and you need more salt when the entire northern hemisphere is hot enough to fry an egg on. ever tried sucking down the recommended 64oz of hydration per day entirely as water, only to find you're peeing constantly without any of the purported benefits of being "hydrated"? assuming you don't have another medical condition that causes frequent urination, your body probably needed more salt/electrolytes to be able to hold onto that water and make use of it. if there was ever a time to keep a sports drink/pedialyte/etc within constant reach, it's when the heat index is 110°F/43°C.
I am adding to this post to clarify that high amounts of sodium chloride (which is what typical table salt is made of) is what’s dangerous.
mineral salt, the stuff people can sometimes refer to as electrolytes (although not exactly the same but can consist of the same select minerals) are very needed and actually hydrate you, as well as more efficiently deliver nutrients to your cells, encourage healthy cell production, fortify your immune system, balance your lymphatic system (especially important if you have high blood pressure, high blood sugar, or kidney issues), healthy hormone production, and it very important for digestive health (if your someone who voids not very often mineral deficiency is usually the culprit)
I thought I should clarify to stop someone from confusing sodium chloride (which if you get too much off causes a imbalance that can lead to the typical negative symptoms health professionals warn you of) and MINERAL SALT (and I guess electrolytes) which does contain sodium chloride but also potassium, multiple magnesiums, calcium, sodium iodine, zinc, boron and many many more that I am too lazy to write out. Minerals are an inorganic substance meaning we can only get it in our body from outside sources, but it is crucial for literally every chemical function our body repeats everyday, every second.
no go future. i just want to feed my tamagotchi.
A quick one tonight, Kuromametchi 🖤✨🥷

phm is decently popular in japan and i mostly see this when i check twitter and see accounts posting pictures of handmade rocky plushies that are so fucking round looking it brings a tear to my eye
he keeps me sane
btw, idk if this will be seen by any of the countless people who already have seen and reblogged this post, but heres the original guide posted on how to make the chibi-rocky! the OP also has a separate guide for a more accurate rocky, though obviously less simple of a guide than the little thingy shown off
(im surprised this post gained any attention, haha, if i had known i would have just shared the guides, the more handmade pebbles in the world the better)

rips of the backgrounds on the tamagotchi paradise because i think they're quite cute and i have nowhere else to post them. f2u
pop health science is so annoying bc it'll be like "did you know? eating strawberries will give you mega cancer" and you're like pfft whatever begone influencer. but sometimes then you'll see a reasonably credible article like "Study Shows Possible Link Between Strawberries and Mega Cancer" and you're not usually the type to follow that kind of thing religiously but idk maybe you should consider not eating strawberries? but then there's another article saying "Strawberry/Mega Cancer Study Debunked" and it turns out the original study had a sample size of 3 and was funded by Big Blueberry, and strawberries may have a small connection to mega cancer but only if you are genetically predisposed to mega cancer and eat 50 strawberries every day. so you return to your strawberry eating life. but whenever you eat strawberries in public someone tells you about the mega cancer.
