he’s probably going for that “character honorably redeems themselves & can die peacefully” trope which can work in certain storylines but for this.. it doesn’t work
my brain is pudding so I can’t explain myself too well atm but ffs katsuki is a teenager, he doesn’t need the “well I lived a good life” ending, his life has just started. he’s slowly taken the steps towards redemption just to have them taken away with this abrupt death. if this was horikoshi’s goal for bakugou’s story from the start, it wasn’t executed properly
ugh that's such a good point and observant .... hypothesis about what he's going for... IT'S JUST STUPID BC IF BAKUGO IS ALREADY DEAD when are we gonna get the "finally... i'm at peace...." moment.
also tho... hori is literally such a dumbass!!!! cuz even if he did go that way, or turned him into a vestige.... IT WOULD BE A VIOLATION OF BAKUGO'S CHARACTER FOR HIM TO BE LIKE "yea. i'm glad i died. could make it up to you finally"
plus... ur right!!! why would he create such a dynamic and intense buildup only to rip it to shreds like this????? i don't understand. what was the point of it all if only to take it away???
it makes sense but also... it does not and it's stupid. bye.
