Honestly ? I love the way my family reacts to "weird identities".
I told my grandma about the alterhuman community (without mentionning Iâm part of it) and also said I like to make gears. She was like "Thatâs weird and stupid, uh !" Then next week she gave me a dog brush to make my tails.
I came out to my mom as a kitsune theriomythic and she said something like "Uh boy thatâs weird. Are you sure itâs not some kind of mental illness" Then she bought me a really cool fox necklace, paw gloves and told me that she finds my masks and quadrobics are really cool.
And I told my parents about the way maybe Iâm neogirl or smth like this, enby female, and they were like "Thatâs too complicated, canât you just be a girl ?" But theyâre so supportive and say "You can identify as anything you want, youâre still my kid and I love you"
And thatâs great.
They donât always approve.
They donât always understand.
But theyâre loving and supporting.
And that, THAT is wonderful.
