This Orecchiette, Brussels Sprouts, and Sausage Skillet is a delicious one-pan meal that combines hearty Italian sausage with tender Brussels sprouts and pasta. It's a flavorful and satisfying dish that's perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients: 8 oz orecchiette pasta. 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved. 12 oz Italian sausage, casing removed. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1/4 cup chicken broth. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. 2 tablespoons olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Follow the directions on the package to cook orecchiette pasta. Remove the water and set it aside. Warm up the olive oil in a big pan over medium-high heat. It will take about 5 to 7 minutes of breaking up the Italian sausage as you cook it until it is browned and fully cooked. Add the minced garlic and cook for one more minute, until the garlic smells good. Put the Brussels sprouts in the pan and cook them for 5 to 7 minutes, until they start to brown and get soft. Add the chicken broth and stir it in, making sure to get all the browned bits off the bottom of the pan. Toss the cooked orecchiette with the sausage and Brussels sprouts in the pan after adding it. Add pepper and salt to taste. Over the top, grate some Parmesan cheese and serve hot.
