That's the name I came up with for it, it's a given. I actually like this ship a LOT.
I've always wanted the super witty, strong and sarcastic fem love interest to be with someone at her level.
I always thought they had a sort of Maxwell Sheifield and Fran Fine sort of dynamic, if Maxwell was more bold. That shot of them where Karai's wearing the Kuro Kabuto and Shini's sitting on the armrest of her throne sold me on it absolutely.
Dont misenterpret this tho, I know Karai's not a super masc, they're both a sharp kind of femenine. Like the femme fatale stereotype but they dont fall for the men they trick, they just kizz. That would be a good movie. Send recs if you've got them.
I love me a wlw villain x villain, I'm sooo starved for villanous couples that aren't used for comic relief or are just absolutely incompetent. These two are a breath of fresh air to me.
It's so sad that ships that are amongst the couples with more chemistry and a better dynamic look sren't as recognized among fandoms just because they're wlw, we cant talk about fandom shipping without talking about the underrated couples, ignored for lacking a fan favorite man. The difference in filled tags in Ao3 between mlm and wlw ships is astounding.
If they were men, everyone would've raved back then for this panel. Which I was always excited for since I started watching the show, it just works for me.

We were never given a backstory for Shini, I wish we did but in my opinion, they probably met in their tween years, a lot of Karai's attitude and makeup routine could've been picked up from her. They were friends in Tokyo before Shredder moved himself and Karai to NYC, I firmly believe Shinigami thought about her long and often before following her to America.
Also, Shingami going with her to a whole another continent to rebuild a clan known for being evil is wild, she is devoted.
And she's a purple loving, lesbian witch. Amity, come get your ancestor.

I dont think Karai and Leo liked eachother. Karai absolutely did not, every moment of hesitation to do bad things was her own moral dilemma and her developing empathy towards the turtles, her real family. Not out of romantic love for Leonardo. And their flirting, I interpret it more as banter and her manipulating him.
Also I think on his part it was more of a sense of hope, unconditional trust and protectiveness he confused for romantic love because it made no sense that he felt this way for some girl he didn't know, I think he subconciously felt a comnection to her the way he felt with his family. Like there was a something, and there was, she turned out to be family. He felt hope for her redemption the way he would feel it for his brothers if they were in her place, he'd want them on the good side of the war.
Back to WarriorWitch, fun fact, Peter DiCicco, one of the writers of the show and script coordinator, has expressed his liking of this specific pair very openly.
Love the co-parenting idea. I think they would fight until they decide both of them should walk her down the altar.

Onto the fanfic IDEAS!! Write it if you want, I'm nowhere near that motivated.
â As Peter said, maybe "Happily ever after AU" where Clan Hamato and the Foot Clan somehow manage to make a truce and Splinter gets to know his daughter, Krai gets to know her biological father. They do know eachother but not like deeply, not closely. Another thing I wish we got, him getting to know how her nurture made her a little bit less kind than his sons, atleast in nature. But she's trying to be more tame about her years of ardual training.
She brings Shini to the lair, to be introduced as her gf, maybe both dads (very away from eachother) get to know her too. End it with a fairytale wedding between Karai and Shini, everyone lives, everyone is good and happy.
It would make no sense since Shredder is incapable of letting go and Splinter could never forgive him for kidnapping his daughter and killing his wife. But maybee.. â
â Tang Shen never died, both brothers moved to NYC with her, the turtles were adopted and the whole mess of the mutagen and Kraang still happens. Splinter does buy the turtles for a birthday gift por Miwa (nicknamed Karai by her uncle, who finally accepted Shen and Yoshi belong together, but still yearns for Shen quietly) since Shredder once mentions Karai "always wanted a pet", so they got her calmer ones instead of a more needful pet, like a dog, so they getvher 4 turtles, they mutate, shalala, shalala. And it also ends with Karai and Shini getting married, and both uncle and Splinter give her to Shini since she sees Uncle Saki as her second dad
â Karai spends the night in Shinigami's place. It's a transition of Karai going over to Shinigami's place over the years, where her black cat is. Karai loves pets, the cat slowly cozies up to her for all the tumes she comes over. Over the years Karai goes to Shini's pkace to talk, for her first sleepover, the first time she does her makeup, for comfort when Shredder's nature is too much for her, just to hang out, to dye the back of her hair, their first kiss, movie night, the kitty's always there, curled up next to them.
â The the Shini+Karia+Emo Leo team episode goes on longer than the original and the fic is just Leo is third wheeling big sister and her gf.
â A hang out fic where they do their makeup. They have definitely done eachother's makeup, that's the most intimate thing two people can do. Just one of them holding the other's face closer to herself, while one works, the other doesn't know where to look, she ends up looking into her eyes while the she's focused, talking about how pretty her lips look, the colour flatters her face. They're sitting cross legged on the bed, their knees are touching.
When she's done they get up, look at her in the mirror, she looks so beautiful, the liner makes her eyes almost shine, she should let her do her makeup everyday. "Now you do mine".
â Restaurant date, Karai lets Shini borrow her leather jacket. "You can keep it, I dont use it a lot". When she gives it back, it's bathed in perfume. Shini doesn't go out without her signature fragance.
â Karai spends a whole day sitting on the throne, commanding the Clan and being around the turtles and April for whatever reason but no one told her she has a big mark of purple lipstick on the corner of cheek. It's commented on, but only in the characters' inner dialogue.
â Shopping spree with the money they burned, I know damn well Shinigami put a wad of it in her pockey, she takes it out one random day "dont worry about it". Shinigami changes and tries on all her finds, in Karai's room of course, they've been friends for years, why would it matter?
â Shinigami loves Karai's snake look. She loves snakes and all kinds of reptiles, she was insistent in reassuring her she's still beautiful.
â They sent letters to eachother since Karai moved to NYC, Karai's letters stop coming in one day, and Shinigami's are never answered again. Karai was brainwashed, in hiding, mutated and imprisioned. Shinigami didn't know any of that until the love of her love shows up in Tokyo, asking for her presence for the rebuilding of her Clan.
â Normal highschool AU, they skip glass to make out behind the bleachers, but it's also fluff, Shini comforts Karai about her problems at home. "You'll always gave a home with me." Karai crashes at her house a lot.
â Halloween episode, Shini came to visit when they were still full villain, they would sit on house roofs to wait and scare kids out of their candy bags. Starry night, denial or realization of feelings, mean to everyone but eachother.

â They do eachother's makeup.
â When they move in together, they get two cats. A black cat that's already Shinigami's and a stray Karai always sees around town that Shredder never let her pick up.
â Their zodiac signs are crazy compatible, Shinigami knows all about that, Karai had no clue about t LLings like that until she met her.
â Shinigami's family never liked Karai, she's THAT bad girl. Shinigami's actually the one that taught her about normal rebellious teen things, otherwise she would've likely have been a walking weapon with no personality.
â Shini gets taller as they get older, Karai is physically stronger but Shini can still pick her up. Karai doesn't mind her eyes being at chest level.
â When the two take baths together, Shinigami throws in all sorts of things. A full cleanse. Sea salt, lavender, special oils. Maybe then Karai will stop having such bad luck.
â Acts of service are Karai's love language, Shini's is physical touch.
â Shini gets to appreciate Karai's snake mutation. It can be domestic fluff, since she loves snakes, Karai learning this form doesn't make her any less beautiful to Shinigami. Or interspecies sesbian lex, ik damn well Shinigami is well read in "magical" creature x human romance.
â Shini got them matching pjs, there have been several break ins to the Foot Clan lair, they've made lots of enemies thorought the years, Karai will run out of her room ready to fight in the brightest purple pajamas.
â Shinigami leaves a kiss on Karai's blade before they go out to fight.
â Karai has always been very possesive of her, since she was the only friend she her age she had before meeting the turtles. Shredder had always told her the other disciples were below her.
â When they were younger, Karai protected her only until Shinigami convinced her she could handle herself. She used to jump into every fight, maybe hiding in alleys in close range to suddenly fall on someone.
â Karai purposely uses lipstick that doesn't stain to not ruin Shinigami's makeup, Shinigami purposely wears more lipstick and gloss than she should to leave marks on her.
â Back when they lived in Japan, Karai got better and better at sneaking out to see Shinigami. That's part of why she's so fast.
â Karai is skinnier looking and shorter but lean, more scarred than Shinigami, Shini has a softer build and is taller.
Karai worried more and acted faster about Shinigami being knocked out than the turtles being kidnapped and almost murdered several times in earlier seasons, btw Sibling typa shit, gf is always more important.
