"We humans are so obsessed with escapism, through movies, books, art, music , and daydreams. Our souls truly aren't made for this world."
~unknown
Sraidrha was 13 when she made a life-altering decision, and honestly, it's been an interesting time ever since. As the Shabti of Alnyagel, she's all about keeping it together for her dad and his people while they navigate the drama of running a Hierarchal household. But, just when she thought she had her life on track, a mystery comes knocking (or rather, dropping) into her world. Sara wonders if she can re-schedule this particular Chaos. And to make matters worse, the First Territory of Yeshvara is experiencing earthquakes that are, quite literally, shaking things up. Her parents and the rest of the Hierarchy consider their options and toss the mystery back to Sraidrha, and a select group of other young Keshkin, as they try to help Laskidoor recover. Sara's not having it, though. She's a planner, and this is just not in the schedule. So, there better be a solid explanation for all this craziness, or she'll unleash inner fury her siblings and cousins whisper about.
Audiobook of the moment is Quicksilver by Callie Hart.
I’d been looking forward to listening to this (I loved the book when I read it) because I knew it was narrated by Anthony Palmini (Rhysand in ACOTAR graphic audio). And, my god, that man’s voice. Just got to the scene where Kingfisher first appears… I’m a sucker for that man’s low growl 🥵
Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan (I went here last year)
This is THE BEST place for those who love reading books!! After I entered it, I never wanted to leave...

These are some of the #bookmails I read this Spring. I enjoyed each and one of them and highly recommend.
The Book of Lost Hours by Hayley Gelfuso – A sweeping historical fantasy about time, memory, and a mysterious library filled with books containing the memories of those who witnessed history.
Palm Meridian – A heartfelt, bittersweet story set in a Florida retirement resort for queer women. It’s a celebration of aging, friendship, and love, with a touch of humor and deep emotional moments.
Let Them Stare – A vibrant YA novel about a gender-nonconforming teen navigating small-town life, fashion dreams, and a ghostly mystery. It’s quirky, rebellious, and full of queer joy.
I Bet You’d Look Good In a Coffin – A darkly humorous thriller featuring Kitty Collins, a serial killer with a sharp wit and a mission against misogyny. If you love twisted, fast-paced crime fiction, this one’s for you.
The Book of Lost Hours – A sweeping historical fantasy about memory, time travel, and secret organizations. It’s perfect if you love intricate world-building and deep emotional stakes.
Skipshock – A genre-blending fantasy romance set in a universe where time dictates power. It’s immersive, unique, and packed with adventure and intrigue.
And now that we are officially into Summer here in 🍁, the heat is on. I am soaking as much sunlight as I can. The backyard swing is my chosen reading spot.
