Hi! I loved your vessel!Reader and I was hoping maybe for a prelude please? Sukuna finally takes over Yuji’s body for the first time and of course he’s eager to start cutting people down. Fortunately, reader stumbles upon him first as their curse urged them to as they felt a familiar energy they haven’t felt in a long time. Sukuna and reader don’t have the most positive first encounter since reader doesn’t realize how dangerous the situation is giving Sukuna lip, not being intimidated in the slightest.
Sukuna believes a slash will be enough to shut them up but blinks the surprise away when reader brushes it off glaring and asking what’s his problem. Reader’s curse then buts in telling them be wary and remember what they taught them. Now a tad more serious and a bit excited Sukuna attacks first. The further their fight goes the king of curses starts to recognize those techniques, those stances… Suddenly he’s taken off guard when striking eyes full of mirthful familiarity, appear right under Reader’s more fierce eyes and a voice he thought he’d only hear in his memory goes “Well old friend, looks like great minds do think alike.” Sukuna barely speaks his old friend’s name before reader knocks him out with an ancient curse technique they learned from their curse. (They used to use it on Sukuna in their younger days much to Uruame’s amusement as they were pretty much play fights)
Reader catches Yuji’s unconscious body as he’s now back in control. Meanwhile Megumi and Gojo witnessed the whole scene while reader simply smiles and waves them over. While they do just that reader is having a conversation seemingly by themselves and simply goes “ok!” Soon multiple tattoos appear around their face and eyes take on a sharper look as they give them a cheeky smirk lugging Yuji over their shoulder. “How about a nice chat over tea, hm? It’s been forever since we had guest!” The curse suggested as they start walking away with Yuji still in their arms.
What are Gojo, Megumi, Sukuna, and Yuji’s (when he wakes up) reactions to learning there is another walking calamity among them and the events that have just occurred?
─ Gojo, Megumi, Sukuna & Yuji x vessel!reader
─ Summary: The beginning with your curse wasn't good, but at least you met some interesting sorcerers through it.
─ Warnings: none, use of (c/n) as cursed name, im not thinking about a name ty anon :P
Part One
Children are purely innocent creatures, void of knowledge, void of malice, void of thought, and highly influenceable by adults. Since you were little, you were taught to be obedient, not to ask questions, not to look, and not to question the type of education or the gloomy place where you were being raised.
You didn’t understand it due to your age; you only knew that your parents were kind, they loved you, and they cared for you. But there was something that seemed to have more of their attention, something they held more devotion for, something that, at the tender age of five, you did not comprehend.
A cult was not a good environment to develop a personality, a life, or thoughts, but since you were happy and easy to please, you did what they asked, unaware of the consequences it would bring.
Many adults and children had died because they were unable to contain an ancient curse that they worshipped in that cult where you grew up. Until you arrived, no one expected you to be fit to obtain that powerful curse, but you were so docile, so strong… your determination to make your parents proud allowed the curse to take up residence inside you.
It felt strange, but you didn’t mind because your parents were happy, happy that you were the vessel for the great curse (c/n)! That led them to spoil you, and they earned one of the highest ranks in the cult.
You were happy because everyone treated you well, but when the curse finally woke from their lethargy, completely weakened, and looked into the reflection of the mirror where they had been placed, they caused a total uproar. They couldn't even control your body! And even if they did, it would be useless! You have zero combat skills, zero sorcery skills; hell, the only thing you have is a damn cavity from eating sweets in secret.
(c/n) loathes you with all its soul, simply because you have trapped them in this stupid body. Now they have chubby cheeks, messy hair, they laughs at silly things, and it’s forced to watch that damn pony show that is ridiculous but you love. They were a killing machine: feared, powerful, bloodthirsty, cruel… now all of that has been reduced to a mundane life, a life seen through a much softer, innocent, naive, weak, and dependent gaze.
The passing of years only worsens the situation, it seems there is no middle ground where both of you can reach a truce. As you grow, your childish attitude changes; you realize that some things are wrong, that adults aren't always right, that your parents aren't always good, and that they won't always lead you down the right path, but rather the one that benefits them most.
By the age of seven, you are aware that you are stuck in a cult, where you also begin to argue mentally with (c/n) over all the hateful thoughts they have toward everyone and every violent thing they think every second.
You also notice the contempt, while everyone holds a certain respect for you as the vessel of such a calamity, many others feel envy. As you grow older, you demonstrate a detachment from violence and malice; your thoughts are much simpler, more modest, and less chaotic than anyone else’s in the cult, which simply causes many internal problems because, although (c/n) has adhered well to your body, your personality has not.
But there is a breaking point, (c/n), who takes a side neither for their devotees nor for your interests, unconsciously chooses a side.
You were truly tired of the whole situation: the murmurs, the whispers, the stares, the erratic behavior of your parents, and the detachment they began to feel toward you because of your negativity about being a vessel. It was a settled matter: they were going to try to rip (c/n) out of you, which would mean your death.
You were barely thirteen years old.
You were still kind.
You were still naive.
You were still complacent.
Even knowing your end, even looking death in the eye.
Maybe this life wasn't for you; maybe the next one would be the right one. No cults, no pressure, no curses, with people who actually valued you and not just the fact that you were a good vessel for cursed energy.
"You’re pathetic."
You jolted upon hearing the voice coming from your shoulder, there, like a will-o'-the-wisp on your shoulder, was (c/n), they could simply do that at will; it was their way of leaving your body, in addition to creating an eye on your forehead as their pleased.
They rarely made appearances, not unless they were very angry and wanted to demand something; usually, you weren't the one getting scolded.
"Uh… why?"
"What do you mean 'why'? They’re going to sacrifice you so they can find another vessel for me, and you’re just accepting it?"
You shrugged at their words, watching in awe as their vibrant flame moved around you. This was, perhaps, the first time you had spoken to them so openly.
"I don't really care at this point, and it’s not like I can escape, I guess it’s my destiny."
"That’s stupid, besides… if these useless idiots put me in another damn child’s body, it would be like losing all our progress!"
You let a small giggle escape, making the curse scowl at you.
"Well, we don't even have progress, we’ve never done anything."
Certainly, (c/n) had never taken control of your body, had never practiced their skills or ancient powers, and you, despite everything, had never opposed them controlling your body. For some reason, neither of you ever did anything truly harmful to the other.
You never had a breakthrough in anything, not in your relationship, nor in skills. You were just like presences destined to be together, perfectly compatible.
"That’s because there’s no point in taking control of such a weak body."
"I guess that makes sense… hey, (c/n), if we meet again in another life, I’d like to have known you more, let’s be friends, okay? I promise to grow up more, to be a responsible adult."
"What the hell are you talking about now—"
For once, the curse’s tenacity wavered, your eyes were glued to the floor; your words were so sincere they hurt. Everything went silent for a few moments until a small sob broke the night's silence, your room, bathed in warm colors, felt freezing.
You cried silently, as if it were a sin. You were a mess; you couldn't even see because your vision was completely blurred, no matter how much you rubbed your eyes.
"I-I… I’m scared, I don’t want to die, I want to live, grow up, learn new things, travel, maybe even fall in love…"
(c/n) didn't know if being chained to you for so many years had weakened them, they could feel their energy flowing strongly, their power intact. If they wanted to, they could take control of you right now, as always, but something stopped them, it didn't feel right. For the first time, they felt pity.
They understood that they didn’t hate you. You didn’t choose this destiny; it was imposed on you, and you just accepted it.
"God, stop crying, you’re so noisy."
"Sorry."
The fact that you apologized didn't calm them down; it only made the curse more on edge, unsure if your own feelings were affecting their reasoning. Seeing through your perspective made (c/n) reconsider many things; it made them experience things that their former self never could. They had always been a curse, something despicable, hunted, and naturally violent, while they enjoyed all the chaos they generated in their glory years, experiencing the tranquility of a daily life effectively quelled their fierce personality.
"I want to experience it too, kid."
"W-what?"
Your breathing became a bit calmer; only traces of tears remained on your cheeks, slightly flushed from crying. Your eyes met the will-o'-the-wisp on your shoulder again, which dimly lit the room.
"Tranquility, the mundane, something simpler, I want to experience it."
"Yeah, that sounds like something great, I hope you can do it with your next vessel."
"Look at how stupid you are," you felt as if they flicked your forehead, you could feel them moving uncomfortably around you, as if they didn't want to admit something, as if it were embarrassing to speak, but they swallowed their pride "You’re not going to die, I’ve already decided, I told you it would be like losing all our progress, plus I’ve already gotten used to you, you’re obedient, so you’ll let me out whenever I want."
"Really? But I thought you hated me."
"…you’ve just become tolerable."
This was the turning point where the relationship improved considerably. Before, you barely spoke to (c/n), just to avoid bothering them. Now, it’s like having a best friend by your side, you share thoughts and ideas; you teach them your pacifist and simplistic point of view more closely, the curse is more open with you; they still maintains that characteristic edge that makes them a threat, but they soften completely with you. They convinces the idiots of the cult through brute force that they do not agree to change vessels, and their followers reluctantly accept.
Everything seems much better after this union; you complement each other as if you were soulmates destined to be fatally joined. The passing years only strengthen the bond that was initially hatred; now it is blind trust on both sides. At the age of seventeen, (c/n) is tamer than ever, they have found your lifestyle gratifying and has limited themselves to being an observer, while you, on the other hand, have accepted taking small risks and being a bit more daring under the curse's influence.
The cult hasn't liked this direction much, but they’ve put up with it because the very entity they worship has scolded them.
Thus, you’ve secured a curse that is friendlier than usual, along with a free and happy life. You tended to run away from home a lot because your parents' presence ceased to be something you sought, they became suffocating, demanding… you preferred wandering the streets to being at home.
And that was how you met Itadori, and how (c/n) reunited with Sukuna. Your curse only came out when necessary or when you were in danger. They immediately recognized the energy coming from that teenager, the red gaze, the extra pair of eyes, the laugh… it was, without a doubt, the king of curses with whom, along with Uraume, had caused so much unrest in the past.
They didn't feel the need to possess your body, not yet.
Sukuna recognized it instantly, his crazed gaze met your bored one, you had become quite desensitized to witnessing violence. You stood your ground, scowling at the teenager; you were going to ignore him as if he were any ordinary curse, and that infuriated Sukuna.
"What the hell?"
From one moment to the next, you were being held as if you were a stray cat, analyzed like a failed experiment.
"Who the hell are you? Why do you give off that cursed energy? It feels familiar."
"None of your business, put me down."
While you struggle to free yourself from the iron grip of the possessed teenager, and Sukuna tries to remember where he recognizes that type of cursed energy, two other pairs of eyes watch the scene intently.
"Wow, this is unexpected."
"Shouldn't we go? Itadori has clearly lost control; that girl is in danger."
"No, I don't think so, besides, she’s very calm."
Megumi only gives a sidelong glance at Gojo, who seems to be watching the interaction very closely. Despite the fact that you are struggling to break free, you aren't agitated, much less influenced by the cursed energy, as if you were used to it. It’s surprising, but what surprises him most is that you yourself release a massive amount of energy without containing it.
"Watch closely, Megumi, maybe that girl is a curse, be careful."
"Why do I have to go? This is your fault."
"Because you’re my student! Take this as just another class, go on, come on, I’ll watch from here, I need you to bring Itadori back to his senses and bring that curse-girl to me."
Megumi walked resignedly, ignoring Gojo's annoying voice cheering him on. The closer he got, the more his shoulders tensed, from afar he hadn't noticed it as much, but now he can feel the clash of two great currents of energy in the area. A murmur of surprise escaped his mouth when he saw you dodge a blow from Sukuna with relative ease. Well, you no longer looked like a mere civilian, but he was worried the situation could escalate.
Your action only made the king of curses more irritated, laughing dryly at your audacity.
"This is so annoying, I just wanted to go to that new café… hey, (c/n), can you do this quickly? I want to leave."
The mention of that almost forgotten name made Sukuna's attack falter for a second, long enough for your own curse to come out. You adopted a more offensive form; your eyes became sharper, your smile turned into a smirk of amusement.
"Long time no see, old friend, I hope I’m not too rusty for this; I’m not what I used to be."
He didn't answer, only smiled crazily, launching attack after attack. Although (c/n) had settled into the pacifism of your life, they still enjoyed these small explosive moments; they still loved the violence, the blood, and the adrenaline of a fight. Sukuna remembered immediately how they were both sealed, how they used to cause despair in humans. But why hadn't they shown themselves before? Did they obey a human? He felt that your curse had weakened, and he couldn't help but think of you, the girl in whom them inhabited, you were weak, he could crush you with a single blow.
The thought that (c/n) had debased themelves to something as insignificant as you infuriated him, and he attacked with more malice. He didn't like you much; you were a nuisance.
Megumi recoiled, surprised by your sudden change in attitude and the clash of energy released by the sudden fight, completely stunned, Gojo appeared at his side in seconds, his small amused smile only widening.
"I think we have a two-for-one on vessels! Now this is a surprise!"
The white-haired man simply delighted in the fight while his student questioned his life choices.
"Shouldn't you stop them?"
"Yeah, that’s what I’m—"
His words hung in the air, silence arrived suddenly when, with a simple flick of your fingers, Itadori's body fell into your arms, you let out a small grunt from the unexpected extra weight, as you had just regained control over your body. You noticed the stares of the other two, looking at the pink-haired teenager in your arms. You scratched your cheek; it was a weird situation.
"I think we’ve caught the attention of some idiots."
"(c/n), you can't just call everyone who stares an idiot, besides, I guess we have their friend."
Your curse mocked in silence, hiding themselves enough so that Gojo and Megumi wouldn't see them. From their point of view, it looked like you were talking to yourself like a crazy person.
"Whatever you say, I know they’re sorcerers, the white-haired idiot is from a powerful clan, I don't remember the name, Oh, and the dummy you’re holding has a curse inside, just like you."
"I figured, I didn't think there would be more people like me."
"I don't think he’s like you, Sukuna doesn't seem to like the kid much."
"I’m sure they’ll get along over time, just like us!"
The curse only lets out a small giggle at your words; you are too positive.
"I don't know about that, but fine, just hand over their friend, if they try anything weird, I’ll come out and flee."
"Don't be rude."
"I promise nothing."
You turn around completely, hiding a small jump since the two guys are closer than you expected, smiling timidly. Gojo is the first to approach, snatching Yuji from your arms and bombarding you with questions without any sense of shame. Megumi stays more on the sidelines, giving you glances from time to time, speaking very little, preventing his teacher and guardian from being too curious or saying something that makes you feel uncomfortable.
You are patient.
(c/n) is not.
Gojo is asking too many questions, and although you intend to be polite, you really want to go to that new café, so your curse wastes no time. The two of them fall silent when your appearance changes again, decorated by tattoos on your skin as well as that fiercer gaze. Megumi immediately goes on the defensive, but Gojo stops him.
"Neither I nor my human care to answer all your questions, but why not do it in a more cozy place? Let’s go."
The curse doesn't wait for an affirmation; they simply expects them to follow you. You scold (c/n) for doing that, as it makes you feel embarrassed, although you secretly thank them. They let you take control as soon as you settle into the quaint café.
The look on Itadori's face when he regains consciousness is a sight to behold. He feels confused, relieved, and happy to discover that he isn't the only person who contains a curse, he starts another round of exhaustive questions more focused on the relationship you have with your curse.
You connect with him immediately, sharing experiences and feelings about being vessels. While you chat cheerfully like two elementary school kids making their first friend, Gojo and Megumi (already satisfied with the information) enjoy their dessert, observing the contrast of Sukuna and (c/n), who argue like a married couple over the life choices they are making.
