personality, looks, characterization within the story. absolutely everything. i was always grinning like an idiot every time he would come on screen. 10/10 character to me

how hated he is by the fandom at large and for what lol (i know it's because of nanami but come on)

and the fact that he says this while, quite literally, kicking yuji while he's down. but tbh it is such an insightful bit of dialogue with themes that brought me back to my tokyo ghoul days and i love.

i also like when yuji yells at him and he just yells back "YOU DON'T HAVE TO YELL I CAN HEAR YOU JUST FINE" lmao

not really a fan of mahijun, mostly because i can't stand junpei (the real villian). i could probably be swayed though. i have also seen mahito/choso but like. i can't imagine choso with anyone other than his brother so

not even a headcanon but it is just constantly erased in fandom how intelligent mahito is. not even in the bookish way although that too. but he really has some of the most interesting thoughts in the entire series re his above conversation with yuji but also his thoughts on the soul and the distinction between the soul and heart that he shares with junpei
